EcoCycle Tanzania is a pioneering initiative committed to transforming the landscape of recycling and waste management in Tanzania. Established in January 2024, EcoCycle is dedicated to promoting sustainable practices while addressing the pressing issue of plastic pollution in our communities. Through innovative solutions and strategic partnerships, EcoCycle aims to build a robust recycling ecosystem that minimizes environmental harm, uplifts the livelihoods of waste pickers, and promotes social equity.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
EcoCycle Tanzania seeks to address the rampant plastic pollution crisis in Tanzania by providing a sustainable solution for plastic waste management. The main problem we aim to solve is the environmental degradation caused by improper disposal of plastics, as well as the socio-economic challenges faced by waste pickers who lack fair wages and access to proper recycling facilities.

Environmental Impact: EcoCycle reduces plastic pollution by promoting recycling practices, thereby preserving natural habitats, wildlife, and marine ecosystems. Socio-Economic Empowerment: We provide fair wages and dignified working conditions to waste pickers, improving their livelihoods and contributing to poverty alleviation. Community Engagement: EcoCycle fosters community involvement in sustainable practices, raising awareness and promoting environmental stewardship among individuals and businesses.
