Since our inception in June 2023, we have recycled over 50,000 plastic bottles, creating more than 10,000 pairs of eco-friendly shoes. The main problem RePlastSole aims to solve is the pervasive issue of plastic pollution in Tanzania. An estimated 4 million plastic bottles are discarded monthly in Tanzania, contributing to severe environmental degradation and harming ecosystems. This waste poses significant challenges to waste management systems and exacerbates pollution. RePlastSole addresses this problem by repurposing plastic waste into eco-friendly footwear, significantly reducing plastic waste by recycling thousands of bottles monthly, thus decreasing landfill waste and promoting sustainable practices within the community.
