01.01 Describe your project in more detail
D & G Career Coach is an AI-empowered platform designed with the job seeker in mind to create effective CVs, cover letters and prepare for interviews that will highlight their skills, experience and accomplishments. Our mission is to empower these job seekers to present their best selves in terms of the expertise they already possess to potential employers, thereby increasing their chances of landing their dream jobs. We will do this providing personalized tools and resources for free and also advanced user experiences and expert review for a reasonable subscription fee. The value we generate by engaging with job seekers and the data generated shall be aggregated and used as insights to help recruiters, HR professionals and other experts to optimize their hiring processes.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Making job seekers ready for the job market. We are doing this by helping them create effective resumes to access the job opportunities that match their skills and interests. We are also helping them prepare for interviews and tests to increase their chances of success. Our extended aim is to also help them develop relevant skills that are relevant to the positions that are applying for if they do not have them already. The platform will also help job seekers develop a strong online presence (which in itself makes a good case for their job application) and stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices wherever their interests may be. Our focus is to make people employable because we believe that most people even after spending years at the university are criminally unprepared for the job market.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
1. Personalized Support: What we seek to do with our platform is to provide personalized support for our users. Most job seekers from my experience as Senior HR Executive reviewing CVs and resumes on a daily basis have no idea what the employer is looking for. They put very little effort into maximizing the skills and experience they have even when they clearly possess them. Our platform will help job seekers everywhere overcome this hurdle. 2. Job seeking is a competition and surprisingly many people do not view it as such. For every job posting out there, there are usually 1000s of people who apply. The employer is often spoiled for choice and may not waste time on any application that does not stand out. Our platform will give our users competitive advantage in the job market. 3. Effective job searching demands a strategy or at least a clearly defined goal. Our platform will support users in developing a comprehensive career strategy taking into account their skills and interests.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
Our primary target are job seekers across every industry and experiences levels. Breaking that down, we will segment them into fresh graduates, students, career starters, NSS personnel. professionals and executives. Our aim is to tailor the right information to meet the specific needs of the various user segments. We shall offer basic refinement tools for career starters, students, fresh graduates and NSS personnel while providing advanced CV optimization tools for professionals and executives who are looking to advance even further in their career. Our platform shall be useful to recruiters, HR professionals and talent acquisition teams to gain insights into the kind of skills that are readily available on the job market. Career coaches and consultants can also make use of our platform for their gaining relevant knowledge they can apply when dealing with job seekers and employers. Finally, job boards and career websites can make use of our platforms to drive traffic to their websites.

Desmond Domfeh, my partner is an Information Security Engineer with over 10+ years experience in the field. He currently works at the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management, USA. He has a Master's in Cyber Security and Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Cyber Security from the Pennsylvania Western University. He also has a BSc in Telecommunications Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Ghana. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate. He has other major certifications from relevant cybersecurity bodies. He shares the vision and passion for making job seekers employable by providing the right tools and resources for them to land the job of their dreams.

We are leveraging digital technologies to foster personal engagement with job seekers to provide them with tailored services that will improve the prospects of our users. We will also suggest training and capacity-building programs that will prepare job seekers and make them ready for the job market.
05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?
Visual CV and Teal are the major competitors at the local level. On the local scene, there are a number of HR professionals who provide CV revamp services for job seekers. What makes our project stand out is that we leverage the technology out there and add the nuanced expertise of our local HR professionals to build full quality service for users. Our uniqueness will come from the fact that most of the materials needed to build this platform have already been curated and the team is going through the process of putting all the resources needed together for the building.
