01.01 Describe your project in more detail
The HealthHub on Wheels initiative is a mobile clinic aimed to deliver comprehensive healthcare services in remote and underserved communities in Ghana. This fully equipped clinic will travel to areas with limited access to medical facilities, offering consultations, diagnostics, basic treatments, preventive care, and health education. The approach will involve the deployment of qualified healthcare professionals, telemedicine capabilities, and partnerships with local authorities and healthcare organisations. The implementation plan encompasses vehicle procurement, equipment customization, staff recruitment and training, community collaboration, scheduling logistics, and referral systems. Sustainability measures include seeking grants, corporate sponsorships, fee-based services and community fundraising. Evaluation will focus on assessing reach, patient satisfaction, health outcomes, cost-effectiveness, and stakeholder feedback.

The main problem the HealthHub on Wheels initiative aims to address is the lack of access to essential healthcare services in remote and underserved communities in Ghana. Many individuals in these areas face significant barriers in obtaining medical care, leading to poor health outcomes, undiagnosed conditions, and preventable diseases. This initiative seeks to bridge this gap by bringing comprehensive healthcare directly to these communities, thereby improving accessibility, promoting preventive care, empowering communities and enhancing overall community health.

The major benefits of the HealthHub on Wheels initiative include: • Enhanced Accessibility: By bringing healthcare services directly to communities in need, especially those in remote or underserved areas, the initiative aims to eliminate barriers related to distance, transportation and infrastructure, ensuring that individuals have timely access to medical care. • Comprehensive Care: The mobile clinic, equipped with modern medical facilities and staffed by qualified healthcare professionals, will offer a wide range of services including consultations, diagnostics, treatments and health education. This approach will address various healthcare needs within the community, promoting early detection, prevention and management of diseases. • Empowerment and Community Engagement: The HealthHub on Wheels aims to foster empowerment within communities by engaging them in their own healthcare. Through health education, screenings, and preventive measures, individuals will be empowered.

Antonio Yayrator Korkuvi - Medical Director Antonio Yayrator Korkuvi is a Medical Laboratory Scientist from University of Ghana. He took his national service as a medical lab scientist at Noguchi Memorial Hospital in Ghana and currently a master student in Climate change under Blue Economy at UCC, Ghana. Experience in disease detection and diagnostics. Eunice Bervelyn Owusua - Health Education Specialist Eunice Beverly is a Midwifery graduate from Atibie Nursing and Midwifery, Ghana. She is currently serving as a midwife at SDA hospital in Koforidua, Ghana. Experience in healthcare delivery and education.

Additionally, we aim to implement targeted outreach programs to encourage women to participate in leadership roles within our organisation and support their professional development through training and skill-building workshops including the HealthHub on Wheels project.
