Describe your project or startup in a few words
ReBorn Ghana tackles plastic pollution choking our waterways. We will transform this waste into strong, affordable paving blocks and tiles, creating cleaner communities and empowering a sustainable future.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
Imagine crystal-clear rivers free from plastic waste and good enough for drinking, domestic use and commercial use. ReBorn Ghana transforms that dream into reality. We tackle Ghana's plastic crisis by upcycling plastic choking our waterways and polluting our waterbodies into strong, affordable paving blocks and tiles. This isn't just about construction, it's also about transformation. The following are some of our major goals. 1. Cleaning Our Waters: We will remove harmful plastic, which shall protect aquatic ecosystems and public health. 2. Empowering Communities: We will offer cost-effective paving solutions, creating cleaner, safer walkways and public spaces. Building a Circular Economy: We give plastic waste a valuable second life, reducing reliance on virgin materials and saving our environment.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
We aim to solve two main problems: 1. The pollution of our water resources especially those in the cities which could beyond giving us drinking water, water for commercial use and domestic use, server as a tourist attraction. 2. Lack of affordable and durable pavement blocks and tiles.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
Here are some benefits of using the pavement bricks or tiles we will produce: 1. Eco-Friendly: Reduce plastic waste choking our waters and promote a circular economy. 2. Community Boost: Affordable, long-lasting pavers for cleaner, safer walkways and public spaces such as markets, Bus Terminals, University campuses, etc. 3. Sustainable Choice: Invest in a future where communities thrive and waterways sparkle. 4. It saves you money: It is much affordable due to the significantly cheaper raw materials.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
The pavement bricks and tiles is targeted to all Ghanaians individuals who are looking to have affordable pavement bricks and tiles. It is also meant for all who make use of clean water(everyone) we will make conscious efforts to clear waterbodies of all their plastic debris and make it suitable for use. Also aquatic life is going to benefit heavily.

05.08 Justification
Our product is not new but is also not common. In various parts of Africa and in Ghana, the product commands very high demands which have not been met by the very few companies involved in it. We are therefore trying to make the product better by making interlocking bricks which will further reduce the quantity of binding material needed to bind them together. We will also extend the range of products to tiles. This will contribute heavily towards meeting the high demands in Ghana.
05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?
There is already a company in Ghana which is into the same thing but they do not produce tiles and they are not producing enough to meet the demand.
10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?
No, but I might do that in the future when I gain a voice and the resources required.
