Describe your project or startup in a few words

Our primary focus at Nouvelle AgriHub is the production of "Zobo Tea." Hibiscus flower as a main ingredient, and other organic spices will be combined and transformed through technology into teabags, which can be prepared with zero stress in every home.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

As the name depicts, Zobo Tea is basically tea made from zobo/hisbiscus leaves. Through technology, hibiscus flower and other ingredients; cloves, grains of selim, ginger, cinnamon, and pineapple will be processed under the right conditions, and placed in desirable quantities into teabags, available for easy preparation and consumption. The tea can be made by placing these teabags into either boiling or very hot water to get the desired concentration. Any sweetener at all and in preferred quantities can be added to the tea to suit the taste of the individual, which can then be allowed to cool down, refrigerated and served chilled. Also, because the product will be made to suit individual needs and preferences, it will be made in varieties to either exclude or include such ingredients like ginger which is seen as a hot spice for some.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

As individuals in this modern age, we are inexplicably overwhelmed with busy and stressful schedules, leaving little to no room for such activities that improve our personal wellbeing. With Nouvelle AgriHub's Zobo Tea, the stress involved in the preparation of our locally known Sobolo; the peeling, grinding, sieving, what have you, will be totally eliminated. People can go about their busy schedules, and would not have to worry about any additional stress just to prepare their favorite and relaxation drink. Also, it is undoubtedly founded that, some of these drinks we buy outside are not prepared in the most hygienic conditions. Our Zobo Tea will however, go through various standards set by the Food and Drugs Authority to further ensure that, our products are indeed safe for consumption. In addition, with either boiling or hot water being the main prerequisite, the easy made tea can be prepared under your supervision in your home. Thus, the worry of poor hygiene is eliminated.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

About 90% of the ingredients that will be used in the production of Zobo-Tea is naturally and/or locally obtained. As such, our Zobo Tea will be packed with numerous health benefits such as: its containment of antioxidants which protect against compounds called free radicals which damage your cells; lowering blood pressure; improving blood fat levels; promoting liver health; helping fight against obesity; aiding the prevention of cancer, among others. Also, Zobo Tea is a relaxation drink which when taken, can help you relax instantly and boost your mood. Also, our product can be taken as a means of quenching thirst. By this, dehydration is prevented. Lastly, our well processed and packaged Zobo Tea will have a much longer shelf life compared to the normal Sobolo drinks sold outside in battles. The teabags can be preserved for up to a certain number of years even, which can be easily prepared whenever and wherever you find yourself.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

Our Zobo Tea is targeted at serving everyone. As such, all factors will be taken into consideration in its production. Children for instance, can easily take our Zobo Tea as well, as some of our varieties will exclude ginger which could be too hot for some to take. Due to the various health benefits of our product, anyone at all, especially; young ladies and older women can take it to reduce menstrual cramps; diabetic and high blood pressure patients, to lower blood sugar and pressure levels respectively; obese individuals, to improve fat levels and reduce obesity; just to mention few.

Our first partner is Professor Francis Amaglo, a food science lecturer at the University For Development Studies in Ghana. Professor Amaglo will be in charge of everything packaging; from ensuring that the right amount of each ingredient will be packaged into teabags, to the general packaging of our products. Secondly, we have Mr. Samuel Aberentera, who is a food scientist. Mr. Aberentera will ensure the highest quality and safety of our products.

In an attempt to end hunger, Zobo Tea will be less expensive, making room for individuals from all economic backgrounds to have the purchasing power to make use of our product. Though less expensive, our product will contain various nutritional values to ensure sustenance of the body. Lastly, Nouvelle AgriHub in the long run, seeks to engage in large scale, the growth of most agricultural ingredients that is used in the production of Zobo-Tea which will also be available on the market. Thus, being in line with the zero hunger path.

The primary goal of Zobo Tea is to ensure that our products keenly contribute to the good health and wellbeing of our customers. Thus, our popular zobo tea will be produced under the most hygienic conditions. Also, Zobo Tea contains nutrients which are dense for promoting good health and well-being since the product is a combination of various nutritional farm produce. It contains high antioxidants such as flavonoids characterised by the red soluble pigments essential for free radical savaging and immune boosting properties. As such Zobo Tea vigorously contributes to the Good health and wellbeing goal of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals.

Though Nouvelle AgriHub is not a main advocate of gender equality, our organization will still ensure that there is balance in gender concerning employees. Under no circumstance will gender be used as basis for eliminating females from our job market. Nouvelle AgriHub will employ good manufacturing practices (GMP) such as material handling, processing, storage and distribution. Zobo Tea will have little or no solid waste which would pose threat to the environment. Additionally, our packaging materials will be made biodegradable from paper where it can be easily broken-down by soil microbes.

05.08 Justification

Zobo Tea is a new product that can be classified as an improvement on our locally and normally made Sobolo drinks. It employs the use of modern technology to process various ingredients used in the preparation of the drink into teabags which can be easily diffused in boiling/hot water, and which can be later refrigerated and served chilled. Zobo Tea has come to satisfy the issues of stress and much time involved in the preparation of our favorite Zobo drinks.

Our potential competitors are the producers of our popular sobolo drinks, and what makes us stand out from them is basically, innovation through technology.
