Describe your project or startup in a few words

This idea is to incorporate recycled plastics into the development of a pace monitoring product which would help runners and the like understand and track their pace/speed in real time.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

The product is a made up of light connected in a chain and stretching along the track/running field. The lights is programmable to start lighting up from one end, moving along the chain until it reaches the other end. The speed at which the light moves can be modified to suit the user. The user is able to upload their running data (or that of another runner) and then train against this data (as a point of reference) - As though they were running against themselves in real time. This is a really simple product but would be tremendously impactful especially for the sporting industry to enable sprinters, marathon runners, footballers and all running enthusiasts to expressly monitor their training for a more personalized training experience.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

1. This is meant to help with the reduction of plastic waste by transforming plastic into a meaningful product which would otherwise end up polluting our streets and water bodies. 2. This idea is meant to help sporting individuals with a product to help monitor and facilitate a more personalized training experience.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

1. This product provides the user with a point of reference in real time to train against for a more personalized training experience. 2. This product would benefit our environment and our planet by taking plastic waste and transforming it into something meaningful and impactful for the benefit of all.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

The targeted beneficiaries are sporting men & women (footballers, sprinters and marathon) as well as all other sporting enthusiasts.

This product is for all persons (capable of using the product). It would be earnestly regarded, making sure that the development process/stages would ensure the fair inclusion of persons to ascertain gender inclusion and equality.

05.08 Justification

This product is unlike anything ever seen before. How? 1. It provides the user with a reference point to train against - This reference point can come from the user's own data or data from another person such that the user is able to train (run) as though they we running with themselves when they are actually not physically present. 2. 05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

The only competitor that comes to mind is the Fitbit watch industry which provides its users with data, specifically the time taken to complete run (sprint, marathon, etc.) Our competitive advantage: Where we come in is to provide users with a product that enables them train/run against a virtual impression of themselves in real time. This gives the user a much more in-depth experience, making the training/running activity much more fun and interactive.

Yes. 1. I strongly encouraged and supported my fellow female work colleague to kickstart her stew business. 2. I am in talks with one other female work colleague to ignite her desire to start her farming business. 3. Another female friend of mine I am currently encouraging to start her bread business.
