The Sustainable Shelter Project focuses on creating eco-friendly, energy -efficient housing solutions that are affordable , environmentally responsible , and designed to foster community well-being especially for low-income families in urban areas.

The Sustainable Shelter Project aims to address the pressing need for affordable housing while prioritizing environmental sustainability and community development. The project's primary goals include the following : Objectives : 1.) Affordable Housing : To provide low -cost , high -quality housing options to low- and moderate - income families . 2.) Sustainability: Implement green building practices to minimize the environmental footprint and promote energy efficiency. 3.) Community Engagement: To foster a sense of community through shared spaces and local involvement in planning and development. 4.) Resilience: Build structures that are durable and capable withstanding environmental challenges , ensuring long-term stability for residents. Key Features: 1.) Eco- friendly Materials: Use sustainable, locally sourced materials to reduce construction waste and promote a circular economy. 2.) Water Management: Implement rain water harvesting systems and low- flow fixtures to conserve H20.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Housing Affordablity: The main problem is many families face high housing costs , making it difficult to secure stable , safe and adequate housing. Many housing projects in my country neglect the social needs of low-income families which leads to community fragmentation and displacement.

Economic Benefits: 1.)Cost- Savings For Residents. Affordable Construction: Using locally sourced , sustainable materials and modular construction techniques keeps housing costs low. 2.) Job Creation: I.) Local Employment: Construction and maintenance create job opportunities within the community ii.) Skill Development: Training programs in sustainable building practices provide residents with valuable skills. Social Benefits 1. Improve Quality of Life: I.) Community Amenities: This project will create green spaces , parks, and community gardens promote outdoor activities and interaction. ii.) Healthy Living Environments : Non- toxic materials and proper ventilation enhance indoor quality.

It is aimed at serving low-income families, local communities, construction workers and local labor force and residents of informal settlements .

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

Local Government and Municipal Housing Projects. Their focus is to provide affordable housing through public funding and policy intiatives. But my project stands out because it seeks to also promote environmental sustainability aside affordable housing.
