A cold store project entails a facility built for the design, construction and operation to store perishable goods under a low temperature. These premises are greatly used in the Supply Chain industry especially in food and pharmaceutical industries.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

The cold store project basically aims at creating a state-of-the-art structure that will help in storing perishable products under controlled temperature conditions. This has been touted as a very important project as it will cater to the desperate needs of a number of industries related to food and beverages, pharmaceutical products, horticulture, and many more where product quality and longer shelf life can determine the success in business and safety for consumption. Thus, cold storage facilities have come into prominence in the logistics chain to deliver products to the customer's doorstep in the best possible shape while minimizing product wastage and maximizing the efficiency of the supply chain.Project Scope: The cold storage project has various components which are of equal importance in effectively creating and running the cold store. These components involve facility site selection and preparation, engineering and design, construction, installation of refrigeration systems.

The cold store project tries to help with the issue of spoilage and quality deterioration in perishable products. The cold store project, by controlling the spoilers and deteriorators of the perishable products in the entire supply chain, builds more effective, efficient, reliable, and sustainable management and supply chains of goods that are perishable. This will advantageously enable businesses to avoid waste and economic loss and ensure that the final consumer enjoys only safe and high-quality products.

Cold storage facilities have prime importance in maintaining the safety and quality of perishable goods, apart from preserving in a vast number of industries. The prime benefits of cold storage utilization can be categorized under product life, reduction of wastages, food safety, supply chain optimization, market access, economic value, seasonal availability, pharmaceutical quality, regulatory compliance, green/sustainability, reliability or dependability and inventory management. All the below comprehensive analysis will detail all these benefits. Extended Shelf Life: One of the greatest benefits provided by cold storage is the shelf life of the items. Fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat and pharmaceuticals are just a few examples of fast-degradable, perishable items that degrade very rapidly under ordinary circumstances. Optimum levels of cold storage, including the degree of temperature and levels of humidity, cut down the pace of biological operations that cause degradation.
