Borlabird is a digital waste collection service that allows community members to schedule pickups, and receive compartmentalized bins for waste segregation, ensuring efficient sorting, recycling, and disposal of all types of waste.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

This project aims to digitalize waste collection in communities by developing a mobile app where residents an/or users can schedule waste pickups on specific days. As part of the project, compartmentalized bins will be provided to facilitate waste segregation at the source which will streamline the waste sorting process, making it easier to recycle and dispose off waste sustainably. The app will notify users of their scheduled pickup times, track the collection status, and offer educational resources on waste management.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The primary problem is the unorganized and unpredictable waste collection system, which causes inconvenience to households and residents, and the lack of efficient waste segregation and recycling processes.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

1. The use of compartmentalized bins will ensure proper waste segregation at the source, facilitate recycling, and in turn reduce landfill waste. 2. Households can schedule waste pickups at their convenience, reducing the unpredictability of traditional waste collectors. 3. The project will create jobs for locals, offering them training and employment in waste management.

1. Community residents: the project will create a cleaner and more organized waste collection service for residents. 2. Unemployed locals: the project will offer job opportunities in waste collection and management to locals in the community. 3. Recycling plants: the project will provide recycling plants with sorted and segregated waste, making their operating processes more efficient.

My female partner has a background in business administration with a proven track record in developing business strategies that drive growth and sustainability. She is also skilled at creating and executing effective marketing strategies. My male partner has a background in petroleum engineering, computer programming, and machine learning. He has a keen interest in green energy and sustainability and also has great communication skills.
