We are living in a dynamic world, where technology is evolving at a rapid pace. But Ghana, specifically the demographic of young people and women/men from low-income areas are much behind in terms of comprehension and interaction with technology and Stem.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
This project will significantly affect the lives of these boys/girls and young men/women after completing the computer course and of the young boys/girls who got the opportunity to be instructed at the ICT Centre. We will look at how these skills can be converted into income generation activities, livelihood security and self-employability. This would bring about the much-needed confidence among them helping them move forward towards development. Their active participation in the decision-making process, community-based planning and being instructed will bring about ownership of the project This project will motivate the unemployed boys/girls and young men/women to start micro enterprises at local level as well as control migration. The underpinning elements of computer and ICT literacy and measures the extent and scope of ICT applications and uptake among different computer users. The four distinct areas of skills and expertise as the ability to independently operate PC.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Unemployment among the youths is address by this project, the unemployed will be equip with skills in coding, graphic designing, web designing among others. To enhance the skills level of young people to prepare them for employment in ICT industries and other marketable job areas. On the other hand, while they have been equipped with skills, they begin working with and earning desert income and being occupied. This reduces youth participation in crime activities, like steeling, killing, quick money, prostitution etc. Also students who learn ICT on board and in books. This make teaching and learning difficult for teachers and students as while. With this project student and tutors will have practical experience in IT. This promote quality education accessibility to all.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
A. To bring lovely computer orient classes to those in formal and non-formal education (basic computing skills is big problem to my people in this localities) B. To bring adult education to the adults, reading, writing, bookkeeping and management skills. C. To promote a culture of reading among the people of the areas. D. To equip students with extra information from the class (Mathematics, English, Science, Computing) etc. E. To alleviate immoral practices by giving someone a chance to be critical, creative and job training. F. To provide young girls with vocational and job-oriented courses like Basic Computer, Coding, Web design and Graphic design. G. To enhance the skills level of young people to prepare them for employment in ICT industries and other marketable job areas. H. To fulfill the goal of gender equity and removal of unemployment and poverty.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
Children /Youths (Male or Female) :Use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to enhance the quality and quantity of education related services has become an integrated part of education projects in developing countries. However, the use of ICT to enhance education and related services has not always been recognized as successful. This is due to many reasons including lack of skills, funds and motivation of the entities involved. In most cases, ICT has proved to be an important tool in assisting majority of people to secure employment and has gained positive advantage in creating self-employment for youths in Ghana. New ways of learning are possible through ICT such as e-learning, distance learning, on-line materials, virtual learning and interactive multi-media. Students can be part of these various learning and teaching from all over the world. For the impossible experiments, we can use simulations and virtual reality.

ICT is the key to poverty eradication and library and information centres serve as the hub through which information is made available. Libraries provide meaningful information on poverty alleviation and eradication both in electronic and traditional format. Also they must ensure that both the rich and the poor should have equal rights to information materials concerning economic resources, as well as property, inheritance, including microfinance. Libraries foster digital literacy and access to technology among every nation’s poorest residents living in remote rural areas.

Libraries organize programmes that help farmers learn how to use the ICT in libraries to access financial forms and submit them to the government, for subsidies, saving time and money. Thus, there is anticipated increase in food production resulting to zero poverty by the year 2030. Libraries use ICT to create awareness and provide enabling environment where information on sustainable agricultural practices accessed and used by farmers.

Libraries should provide education and training for both the young and old to make sure that they have access to information in an affordable way.

Information on general land abuse is made available to the common man by the library at no cost. The threats from man and nature to land can be safeguarded by information from libraries. Libraries have a key role in preservation of indigenous knowledge – which includes local decision-making about fundamental aspects of life including hunting, fishing, land use, water management.

the elements of computer and ICT literacy and measures the extent and scope of ICT applications and uptake among different computer users. The four distinct areas of skills and expertise as the ability to independently operate personal computer system, an ability to use software for preparing and presenting work, an ability to use the internet and its various features as communication device, and an ability to access and use information from world wide web (www) were seen as attributes of an ICT literate individual. An ICT literacy skill generally is the familiarity with mobile phones, computers, the internet and other ICTs; the ability to use ICT features and applications and the ability to use ICTs to work individually or in teams. In fact, it involves the awareness of technologies and application of their relevance, use of technology for information and knowledge encompassing skills or abilities to access, retrieve, store, manage, integrate, evaluate. this is not seen in my area

The area with this project is needed, do not have any of this service available to the students or the community, there is no competitors, it will be in the future when this come into being.
