Hello Students is a media organization addressing quality education challenges in Africa by creating content that shares valuable insights, knowledge, and inspiration for students. We are creating a sustainable approach to student development in Africa.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

Hello Students is a new media organization dedicated to addressing the challenges of quality education in Africa. We produce engaging and educational content tailored to students' needs, aiming to bridge the knowledge gap and foster holistic development among students. Our content spans various subjects including but not limited to Mental health, Campus issues issues providing valuable insights, practical knowledge, and inspirational stories from successful individuals and experts to students. By creating a bank of educational resources, we empower students to excel academically and personally. Our long-term vision is to establish Hello Students as a leading educational media platform in Africa, contributing to improved literacy rates, enhanced academic performance, and increasing the rate of enrollment into tertiary institutions. We envisage creating a social venture that would sustainably collaborate with corporate bodies and government to renovate schools in deprived communities.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The main problem we are addressing is the lack of quality education and access to comprehensive educational resources for students in Africa. Many students, particularly in underserved and rural areas, face significant challenges in accessing the information and support they need to succeed academically and personally. This gap in education leads to low literacy rates, poor academic performance, and limited opportunities for higher education. According to research from Mastercard foundation Only about "9% of African youth" attend university or other tertiary level education after completing High school. It gets sadder when we know that there are only 76 young women for every 100 young men who get this opportunity. We believe that this is woefully inadequate and attribute this to the lack of resources available to students. Hello Students aims to bridge this gap by creating a platform that would provide resources solely tailored to the needs of students in Africa.

Accessible Quality Education: Hello Students provides students with access to high-quality educational content regardless of their geographic location. This ensures that even those in underserved and rural areas can benefit from valuable insights, practical knowledge, and inspirational stories. Holistic Student Development: Our content spans various subjects, including mental health and campus issues, which are often overlooked in traditional curricula. This comprehensive approach promotes both academic excellence and personal growth, helping students develop a well-rounded skill set. Empowerment and Inspiration: By featuring stories from successful individuals and experts, Hello Students inspires and motivates students to aim higher and achieve their goals. This not only boosts their confidence but also encourages a culture of continuous learning and self-improvement.

Mohammed Napare is a dedicated educator and entrepreneur with a passion for improving education quality in Africa. He possesses strong leadership skills and is currently a lead for Ghana fellow who is serving in the Western North region of Ghana. As a fellow of Lead for Ghana, I am committed to bridging educational gaps and disparities among young people whiles sharing in the vision of ensuring that one day every child regardless of background has access to quality education. Mohammed's experience as a core mathematics teacher and founder of Hello Students demonstrates his commitment to student development and innovative approaches to learning. I also have experience in collaborating with stakeholders, including corporate bodies and government agencies, for impactful projects. My vision and experience makes me a valuable asset in the education and media sectors as i have witnessed some challenges of students first hand in rural areas.

Hello Students is a unique and innovative project that leverages the extensive reach of the internet and the engaging nature of new media to address critical educational challenges in Africa. Our approach combines education and entertainment in a way that resonates with today's students, making learning more accessible and enjoyable. By expanding our YouTube channel into a comprehensive educational platform, we provide an improved and extended service that not only meets existing demands but also addresses unmet needs for quality education. Our commitment to respecting regional values and engaging openly with communities ensures that our solutions are culturally relevant and widely accepted. By sourcing local expertise and collaborating with corporate bodies and government agencies, we support job creation and economic stability within the region. Our innovative approach not only enhances educational access and quality but also contributes to broader societal development goals.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

We are building an all-purpose educational platform designed to be the go-to resource for all aspects of student development. Our main competitors, such as Khan Academy, Coursera, and Udemy, tend to specialize in specific areas, which can limit students' comprehensive learning experience and make it challenging for them to maintain consistent progress. In contrast, Hello Students offers a holistic approach, covering a wide range of topics essential for student growth. Additionally, our content is tailored to the cultural contexts and educational challenges specific to African students, making it more relevant and impactful. We operate in a highly competitive landscape where students have numerous options to access information, including various social and educational channels. However, our platform stands out by providing an integrated, culturally resonant educational resource that meets the diverse needs of students in one place.

10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?

Yes, personally, I am taking action within my community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs. As a teacher at the only girls' school in the Western North region of Ghana, I actively educate young girls on the importance of developing entrepreneurial skills. I organize workshops, mentorship programs, and discussions to empower girls with the knowledge and confidence needed to pursue entrepreneurial ventures. By fostering an entrepreneurial mindset and providing support and guidance, I aim to inspire and enable young girls to become successful entrepreneurs and leaders in their communities. While also educating them on the stereotypes that exist about females entrepreneurs and leaders.
