Describe your project or startup in a few words

My name is Amira a female truck driver in Ghana. My project is to open a driving school that can train a lot of female driver's into the transportation industry.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

As a female trucker, I started from scratch with small car,then move to buses now into trailer. Although I don't have much education, I wish to change the narrative of women can't be into the transport and logistics service. I want to open a driver training school which will be a platform for many women to build their confidence in driving and use it as profession to make an end's meat. I must say I earn a decent amount in Ghana here which has help me and my family.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

When younlook at the SDG First one is no poverty which mean when these women are train and gainfully employed they will be able to fees their selves ,children and family. Poverty has been defeated as am trying to solve employment situations. When you l9ok at the SDGS again number 5,8 and 9 aslo talks about gender equality, industry innovation and decent work. With the opening of a driver training school, we will birth new ideas and innovations for women going into the men dominated industries.

My target beneficiaries are women, teenagers, teen mother's who want to learn skills.

Myself and another driver instructor has successfully graduated from the Ghana TVET center on the driver instructor certificate program. Myself have over 7 years experience of being a driver in Ghana.

I strongly believe that if my project cones to light many companies will employ train and certified driver's from us direct.

Our main competitors will be male drivers, what makes us stand out is we will being sanity to the driving work
