01.01 Describe your startup in more detail
Lewa Academy is an online education platform borne out of a passion for empowering learners and educators across Cameroon and Africa. Founded in 2023, Lewa's mission stems from the founder's firsthand experience with the educational instability plaguing the North-West and South West regions of Cameroon since 2017. This disruption, coupled with the global challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, ignited a fire to create a solution. Lewa, initially just an idea, emerged in June 2023 to bridge the educational gap and provide accessible learning opportunities for all. Lewa's vision is to transform lives through education. Regardless of socioeconomic background, Lewa offers a comprehensive course library that caters to both academic and professional development. The platform goes beyond the traditional GCE curriculum, encompassing valuable skill-based courses in cybersecurity, IT management, and other tech fields crucial for building a thriving Cameroon and Africa.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
I am sorry to Answer this question by asking a question too . What will happen to our teachers and student if a world crises of covid 19 occure again . Now i will respond to the question . the cameroon syllables can only be taought by the train teachers in cameroon which over 98% of them has not embrass the tech in Edu . and now to the student which can not only really on the 2 period given to them by thier teachers they need to meet up for the govement exams not only that also the cameroon system of eduction do not offer most tech courses which is hihtly needed out there .

Lewa Targeted audiences are those who are ready to learn starting from the secondary school student of form 1 and above .it can be categories under secondary , high school , university student and any one above the primary education willing to learn new skills . Lewa tackles geographical and financial barriers by offering affordable, accessible online courses that complement traditional education. Students seeking support with the GCE curriculum will find valuable resources tailored to their specific needs. Lewa goes beyond traditional academics by offering vital tech skills training, preparing learners for the demands of the modern job market and equipping them to contribute meaningfully to their communities. Lewa doesn't forget the educators. Teachers can leverage the platform to enhance their own tech skills and explore innovative teaching methods that incorporate online learning tools.

Knowing how Much teachers earn less in Cameroon especially private school teachers which are mostly paid by PTA ,income generated from the courses save as a passive income to them and also as a retirement benefit since they will still earn from this courses even after retirement . hence solving no poverty to the teachers and student that can not afford good schools with good teachers with the little or no money they can afford to learn like other learners with the same quality teachers on the platform hence bridging the gap between the poor and the rich in education

The African e-learning market size reached US$ 3.1 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach US$ 7.2 billion by 2032, exhibiting a growth rate (CAGR) of 9.9% (Market Research Reports) . Many African countries face challenges with traditional educational infrastructure, such as a lack of qualified teachers or overcrowded classrooms. E-learning can bridge this gap by providing access to quality education from anywhere. So lewa come in as one of the first in Cameroon but among others in Africa and the world

Yes so far i have had training English Teachers which our all female Entrepreneurs within my communities , also open for internship where more priority goes to empower women in tech. and also one of our work objective is to raise leaders . All our female workers are build with the entrepreneurs mindset .
