Albino Care Organisation is a community-based, non-profit, and non-governmental private voluntary organization founded on November 1st, 2022, by a group of dedicated youth activists.
01.01 Describe your startup in more detail
United by a shared vision, we aim to improve the quality of life for individuals living with albinism. Our organization is committed to providing support, advocacy, and empowerment to albino individuals, promoting inclusivity, and challenging discrimination. We strive to create a society where persons with albinism can thrive and reach their full potential. *Goals* - Increase access to education and employment opportunities for individuals with albinism. Improve health outcomes and reduce skin cancer incidence.Foster economic empowerment and self-sufficiency. Promote social inclusion and combat stigma. Ensure project sustainability through community engagement and resource mobilization. By addressing the multidimensional challenges faced by individuals with albinism, this project aims to create a holistic and sustainable support system that empowers them to thrive and reach their full potential.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The main problem that the Albino Care Organisation is trying to solve is the poor quality of life faced by individuals living with albinism. This includes: 1. Social exclusion and discrimination 2. Limited access to education, employment, and healthcare 3. Stigma and marginalization 4. Lack of support and resources 5. High risk of skin cancer and other health issues 6. Limited representation and voice in society The organization aims to address these challenges by providing support, advocacy, and empowerment to albino individuals, promoting inclusivity, and challenging discrimination. By doing so, we strive to improve the overall well-being and quality of life for individuals with albinism.

Chairperson - Martia Mandizha (Living with Albinism) Age: 23 Background: Martia is a recent A-level graduate and an individual living with albinism. Strengths: Strong leadership skills, empathy, and a deep understanding of the needs of the albino community. Vice Chairperson - Clever Mhukayesango* Age: 21 Background: Clever is a recent A-level graduate and a former Chitungwiza Junior Mayer,(2020-2021)with a passion for social justice. He is an excellent communicator and organizer. Strengths: Strong writing and communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to social justice. Treasurer - Albet J. Zuva( living with albinism) Age: 20 Role: Treasurer Background: Albert is a recent A-level graduate, pursuing a degree in accounting, with a talent for numbers and finance. He is responsible and diligent. Strengths: Strong financial management skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to transparency and accountability. Secretary-Revaldo Sithole -Locadi Mandizha.
