01.01 Describe your startup in more detail
House Intelligent Systems is a startup aimed at creating digital solutions that benefit the people of Zimbabwe and the world as whole . Our startup comprises of 5 individuals with the same mindset of changing how things are done through the use of technology . It focuses in creating innovations that reduces the use of paper (Business ERPs) , creates affordable health care (Medical AI ), and improves agriculture (HarvestMind) . Agriculture contributes approximately 17 percent to Zimbabwes GDP and is the main source of livelihood for the majority of the population(FAO) and due to this we noticed the need for innovation(in dev) in helping farmers improve it and reduce post harvest losses by providing them a platform where they can make informed decisions through the combination of GIS and AI which inturns provides remote field monitoring and management , crop perfomance monitoring , weather analysis for farm fields and generated AI recommendations to support the farmer from seed to sell.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Agriculture contributes approximately 17 percent to Zimbabwes GDP and is the main source of livelihood for the majority of the population and due to a lot of issues like climate change , unavailability of remote farm monitoring tools , farmers have had a lot of post harvest losses which has seen the country experience hunger leading to death of the variety of the population . We want to create a Zimbabwe where agriculture remains high and yields and outputs remains high in order to feed the masses thereby promoting Zero hunger . Agriculture also remains the main source of employment for a lot of Zimbabwe and we aim to keep it up and running by improving yields through the use of technology in order to better the livelihoods of the people
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your startup provides (at least 3).
Our product aims at providing easiness in management and monitoring of farms regardless of the availability of the farmer in the physical farm areas which reduces costs for travelling from one farm to the other . Also , our product aims at providing field insights to the farmer from crop analysis and performance , weather data and AI recommendations based on the fields state. Our product also provides a platform for farmers to sell their crops hence supporting them from seed to sell
01.04 Please describe who exactly your startup’s product/service is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
Our product is aimed at both the non commercial and commercial farmers in Zimbabwe who struggle with the issues of field management and monitoring with our main focus on the informal farmers (non commercial) as they are many in the country and are particularly located at the rural side of Zimbabwe. We aim that by integrating indigenous languages we can be able to get as many local and rural farmers as possible to help them improve their yields.
