The project seeks to use the principles of mixed farming and the interdependency between crops and animals to build a farm that produces crops especially grains and vegetables, dairy, eggs, and meat from livestock.

MA Farms is an agribusiness start-up that deals in the entire agricultural value chain of production, processing, and distribution of fresh vegetables. eggs, meat, milk, and grains to all parts of the country and beyond. Leveraging technological advancements and modern machinery such as battery cages for housing the poultry, and planters, and combined harvested for the crops and mechanized pens and milkers for the cattle, coupled with skilled human labor and expertise, we seek to employ science and technology to maximize production. using the excreted waste products of the animals as organic manure and feeding the animals with some of the grains produced, the cost of running the farm is kept low for business sustainability. leveraging the same technological advancements, we will process these products into finished or semi-finished goods such as pasteurized or evaporated milk, tomato purees, edible rice products, and beef delivering them to consumers through intermediaries.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The rising food insecurity in sub-Saharan Africa is a result of the high prices of foods due to the overdependence of the local markets on foreign and important food products. This increases food inflation and affects the economy and livelihoods.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your startup provides (at least 3).

MA Farms will provide fresh vegetables that were grown without artificial fertilizers so these vegetables will be devoid of the heavy metals present in some of these fertilizers that have numerous health implications. The vegetables also contain a wide range of vitamins and minerals for healthy growth. Fresh eggs also provide consumers with less saturated fats and bad cholesterol that promote cardiovascular diseases. They also contain vitamins, anticancer, and antioxidant agents. Whole grains reduce the risk of diabetes and heart disease due to their fiber and mineral content. fresh milk and meat also have tremendous health benefits to the consumers. Aside from the health benefits, the cost of these foods will be cheaper since it is homegrown.

Eggs, which are proven to be rich in essential proteins such as albumin, and milk, are known for their calcium and vitamin content, the grains the meat and vegetables play a vital role in supporting the body's growth and development. Their inclusion in the preparation of foods in various settings such as households, schools, hospitals, restaurants, food joints, and bakeries highlights their widespread significance in promoting overall health and nutrition.

My competitors are poultry farmers, cattle rearers, and vegetable producers in and around the eastern region. Also, cold stores that import meat from foreign producers. These products may usually contain certain chemical preservatives that may be harmful to the body. My products are locally produced using organic manure devoid of all heavy metals.
