long pages international is a special education technology application designed to ensure access to quality and improved online education through a synthesis of human expertise alongside artificial intelligence tools thus reducing the cost of education

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

Through our education technology application, we intend to design a special school platform to create an online school unit to allow online teaching of all subjects. the school unit shall be a synthesis of human expertise with assistance of artificial intelligence tools to ease teaching and understanding of online class concepts among students. to make education affordable, our aim is to see that a teacher owns an online school unit through which they can teach majority of class concepts and then may conduct a round of physical practicals for only hands on subjects at any arranged places and not at fixed, ordinary and physical schools. our platform shall have a number of modern tools to ease the making of narrative live videos and animations by the teachers to cause a better understanding, to host teachers and learners live online, plus capacity to record and save their class videos for students reference. our business lies in selling affordable school units to qualified teachers

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

in Uganda and some other countries in the world, there is a problem expensive education. this is because it is mainly physical school centred. this involves high costs such as accommodation of students, transportation to and from school centres, costs on food while at school among others. more so, there is a need to design a school system that fits in the current world situations that include pandemics such as the previous novel corona virus, wars, environmental related challenges such as rising temperatures, severe floods which at times make it impossible for the physical school attendance system. this is why we design a strong online school unit. there is also a problem of insufficient adult education in Uganda and other countries. this is because most of the physical school system makes it unable for them to attain education as its time consuming. on the other side, it is costly to startup and own a school in Uganda . this has called for high risk takings to acquire funds.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

There shall be affordable quality education to learners across Africa and the rest of the world compared to the cost in physical schools . this is because our system is mainly online based which reduces costs incurred by students such as accommodation around schools, transport costs to and from school points. in addition, it shall be easy to own a school unit by qualified teachers. this is because our school units are made to be affordable compared to high costs involved to establish physical schools. this shall make it possible for school unit owners to earn a living through teaching yet they acquired a school unit at lower cost. on the other hand, it shall be possible for adult education since the platform can be accessed anywhere at any time.Also, the project shall be time saving for both teachers and students to perform other tasks. this is because most of the class time shall be online except in a few hands on science and skills subjects that may require some bit of practicals

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

The project targets all young and old Ugandans plus people in the rest of the world who are willing to undergo impactful education in all spheres of education ranging from all arts and sciences. on the other hand, the project targets qualified professionals with a dream of starting and owning a school for themselves but are unable due to high costs involved in the process such as setting up physical school structures among others.

My name is Himbisamukama Peter male Ugandan citizen. i am a continuing law student in Uganda at Islamic University In Uganda Kampala campus. i hold a diploma in law from the Law development centre Kampala, i went to Kitabi Seminary in Bushenyi district for secondary Education. i am solely behind the project called Homes lot a continuing project that shall be aimed at helping students and the rest of citizens to easily find their rental homes without going through inconveniences which i started on during the Starthub Africa boot camp while at school. i speak English fluently. i have volunteered in the legal sector in some courts in Uganda. i have fine communication and speaking skills and always willing to learn more each day.

our school system is designed to reduce the cost of education in Uganda and other African countries since daily costs of transport and fixed rates of accommodation throughout the year will be no more thus reduced levels of dependency which is a key source of poverty in homes. on the other hand, our school system is designed to make it affordable to own a school by qualified teachers. this shall ease making of business thus a source of income and reduced poverty. more so, there will be a high rate of teaching jobs created which will earn teachers a living thus reducing poverty. therefore the business is in support of no poverty goal

The online school system saves time for student children since there will be no need for students to move up and down to schools each day . this means there will be time saved to engage in agricultural practices such as growing of food crops, home gardening with parents in their homes than ordinary school systems where students are kept in schools for many months without leaving sufficient labour at home to practice agriculture. this is also a source of hunger in families. besides this, since our school system reduces the cost of education, this creates chance to save some income which could be invested in reserving more land and labour essential factors for agricultural production as well as boosting food security in homes . in addition, some physical schools are run and managed by profit minded people who do no focus on providing better nutrition to learners who pay huge sums of money but are ever kept hungry.

our project is aimed at reducing time spent in physical schools which face a number of challenges as far as good health and well being are concerned for example some physical schools in Uganda and other African states have no capacity to provide better health requirements such as good toilet systems, clean water and a better feeding strategy . this has resulted into the spread of diseases among learners as well as malnutrition respectively. on the other side, physical school system of confining students in school premises for the rest of the time till end of semester is itself torturing. this is to me next to a prison. more so, physical ordinary school system where students move to and from school points is tiresome and stressful in nature because some students engage in walking long distances to schools and this brings no happiness at and well being than if students were staying in their homes

according to this goal, our project focuses on universal literacy and numeracy which are key indicators for this goal. on the other hand, the project is in support of elimination of all forms of discrimination in education . our project targets all people without discrimination based on race, gender among others. this shall be in all project activities . in addition there shall be affordable education in technical, vocational and higher education with a part of the vocational studies studied online through use of our improved online teaching tools. more so, the aim of this project is to ensure affordable education other than high costs of education as commonly seen in physical ordinary schools.

our project aims at reducing man power spent on physical school systems which includes moving up and down to school centres by teachers while going for work which is so stressful .this indicates an element of decency of work. our online system eases work with teachers able to access their school units wherever they go . this shall allow them to easily plan for other activities thus productive employment. on the other hand, we intend to register our company which shall comply with the economic expectations that include payment of taxes other charges and other regulatory expectations which all contributes to economic growth. more so, with an increased employment of teachers in the field of education, this itself comes with benefits such as improved standards of living an essential indicator of economic growth.

There is a lot of inequalities within the country in as far as attaining education in some families . due to high costs of education, male children are at times let to go to school leaving the female to keep home doing home chores . on the other hand, inequalities are seen as far as employment is concerned and ability to own business with the most affected being women. our project aims at creating equality in areas of employment and owning a school unit without discrimination. on the other hand, there are inequalities between developed countries and some developing countries in Africa when its comes to quality of education for example most of schools across USA have already started using AI tools to ease and cause quality education. this is why we as well intend to setup an impactful education system to reduce these inequalities

our project which contains an online school system means no daily transportation of students to school through use of various non environmental means such as vehicles which use fuels. each day we burn millions of gallons of fuels in vehicles which emit heavy gases in order to transport people to school such as school buses etc. the project stands to have that reduced and calls for electrification instead. on the other hand, our online school system doesn't call for environmental destruction such as clearing of land , draining water sources, cutting down of trees with an aim of setting up school structures in form of classrooms and administration blocks. in all this, its in favour of the climate action goal

our project is aimed at saving life on land in a a way that huge pieces of land are cleared to setup schools. this includes clearing of trees. on the other side huge, populations of students at schools at times is against vegetation growth. this in turn has resulted in erosion mainly in school compounds . this shows how this project is to save the environment .

05.08 Justification

our project in one way could slightly be described as a new technology in the field of education different from the common blended mode of teaching which still involves most of time being spent in physical schools . more so, our slightest difference lies in the way concepts are taught (narrative live videos) with assistance of artificial intelligence to simplify understanding of learners besides online engagement. in addition, its slightly different in that our students go for a round of practicals at any arranged centres than being at fixed school places. all this is to reduce. the cost of education . the project is aimed at totally reducing the cost of education than it has been in Uganda and Africa at large. therefore lastly the project is an extension of ordinary education services to make it more possible to study online than it has been in Uganda and Africa at large something different from the ordinary way of teaching.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

yaaka in Uganda which allows students to access value added academic content following uganda's syllabus together with facilitated online classes. on the other hand is zeraki learning found in Kenya which is a video based digital learning platform which allows students to watch video lessons and take quizzes. what makes me stand out lies in my project aim which is to reduce the cost of education in Uganda, Africa plus the rest of the world other than merely assisting learners to easily understand class concepts .
