01.01 Describe your project in more detail
The EduRent Uganda is an online book rental for primary and secondary schools in Uganda aims to address the shortage of textbooks by offering a digital platform where students can rent educational materials. The system features a comprehensive digital library aligned with the Ugandan curriculum, accessible via a user-friendly web and mobile interface optimized for low-bandwidth conditions. It provides affordable subscription plans, offline access, and interactive tools for enhanced learning. Teachers and administrators benefit from management tools to monitor and assign resources. Partnerships with publishers and the Ministry of Education ensure a constantly updated library. The project includes a pilot program, user training, and continuous feedback mechanisms to improve the platform. This solution increases access to educational resources, reduces costs, and promotes sustainable learning, ultimately enhancing educational outcomes across Uganda.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The main problem we are addressing is the lack of access to adequate educational resources, particularly textbooks, for primary and secondary school students in Uganda. Many schools suffer from insufficient and outdated libraries, and purchasing textbooks is often too expensive for many families. This shortage significantly hinders the quality of education and students' academic performance. Additionally, maintaining physical textbooks is costly and inefficient, and they quickly become outdated. Our project aims to provide an affordable, accessible, and sustainable solution to ensure that all students have the necessary educational materials to succeed, regardless of their financial situation.
