Upcoming Talents Support Show
Describe your project or startup in a few words
This is a show that will allow the general public to make their entertainers into sustainable stars who talks their language, promote their values and protect their culture; hence reducing the industrial dominance of uncultured stars.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
Upcoming Talents Show is purely a talent development support arrangement that will provide a big communal audience to fairy-selected talented entertainers to showcase their talents. Each entertainer will then be given 5 minutes after the performance to express his struggle and what he or she wants to see his career grow. The audience or public will then immediately fundraise for each entertainer and follow his career growth into a sustainable star. Physical attendance will be for free and the implementation team will appropriately prepare the entertainers and also mobilise as more attendants as possible. The main reason behind this arrangement is to have communally built stars whose works talk to the hearts of many communities, promote their communal cultures and values, and be future generational icons for their societies. The implementing team has to lobby for the venue, sound, mobilisation, stage, branding, administration and other related costs to organize the shows.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The main problem is that entertainment in Uganda has for years lacked a professional empire/group/platform to support upcoming entertainers and help in sustaining their careers. Every entertainer struggles his/her way through and this creates an incompletely-focused person who cannot be that good. Sometimes upcoming entertainers are exploited by people with hidden interests and the relationships always end in problems, to extents of costing their long-term built fame. Upcoming entertainers fail to raise the required money to promote their work and at the end, majority quit for some other work hence wasting their talents. Some become target entertainers who after becoming stars and paying all debts to it, they take off. Some have lost their lives in the said industrial wars. Now, the biggest challenge in Uganda is that majority of the Stars are not good entertainers but just people who can afford to promote their work. Since they don’t have the heart for the industry, they have spoilt t
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
To community / general Public: these shows will help them to participate in building their own stars who talk to their hearts in relation to norms, culture, morals, and values in order to have a respectful industry with cultured players or participants. To struggling talented performers: these shows will give then an eternal opportunity to showcase and benefit from their passionate and appropriate talents irrespective of their financial capacity. They will receive financial support, training opportunities, proper talents management teams, opportunity to perform for bigger audiences, promotional offers and other secondary benefits. To Uganda and East Africa at large: the industry will get more organised and have better representative for our cultures and values. Government will have a better way of evaluating the national contribution of the industry to the national income. Other Organisations: these will have a better way of spotting who to support in the industry.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
The Struggling Talented Entertainer: These will be fairly selected. After registration for the shows, performers will be taken through seminars, workshops and interactions with legends and national entertainment authorities which will strengthen the entertainers’ capacity and to understand the industry more. Several co-operatives, organisations, authorities, societies and groups will be encouraged to be part of such arrangements so that they can support the entertainers in any way possible in managing their careers better. Then they will be trained for the show so that they perform at their best. If good work is showcased, the entertainers will be motivated, supported and encouraged to continue with their talents. Better productions and promotions of their works will done as engineered by the implementing team. So many poor talents will get an opportunity irrespective of their financial muscles.

05.08 Justification
This form of shows have never been organised in Uganda. Most shows in this format are auditions where they pick the best performers and grants are provided to them. These benefit a few. But the Upcoming Talents Show will present all selected entertainers in different categories. The public will listen to their struggle stories and each will be supported differently.

There is no potential competitor. This project is purely a new idea. It is a gap in Uganda and East Africa I know.
10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?
Yes. Engage them in my administration and management; i preach the "Girl Child Education" when i visit schools and communities; i include female entertainers in my lists since the audience also prefers them.
