AXCEL aims to equip students, especially campus students with the necessary tools and resources to achieve their academic goals. Such include well researched notes by top students and lectures, fun quizzes, past papers and answered tests, among others.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
The AXCEL project is driven by the need to enhance the educational experience of university students in Uganda. It bridges the gap between traditional education and modern technology, making high-quality educational content readily available to all university students around the country. AXCEL is positioned to address the challenges students face ranging from limited access to study materials all the way to limited information to help them make informed decisions on career paths. AXCEL, simply put, is a mobile application that could make the learning experience of Ugandan and regional students much more convenient with academic content such as notes, discussion videos, curated quizzes past papers and answered quizzes for all that use it, making it easier for them to prepare for their exams. AXCEL at its full potential could also be key in shaping career paths of its users, as they can have access to past experiences and career guidance of those that have come before them.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Limited access to information is a significant barrier for students seeking to effectively prepare for their examinations. Insufficient resources, outdated materials, and restricted access to digital information hinder the ability to thoroughly understand course material, complete assignments, and adequately review for assessments. This information gap leads to a lack of confidence, increased anxiety, and poor academic performance. The scarcity of information disproportionately affects students who rely heavily on university resources, making it challenging for them to adequately prepare for exams. This hinders their ability to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, potentially leading to lower grades and decreased academic success. The inadequate provision of information undermines students' ability to reach their academic potential, ultimately affecting their future career prospects and opportunities.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
Firstly and most importantly, AXCEL would avail equal access to quality education through bridging the information gap for students with limited resources, ensuring equal access to quality educational materials and opportunities for academic success, regardless of geographical or financial constraints. Improved Academic Performance. By providing access to researched notes, discussion videos, quizzes, and past papers, AXCEL empowers students to better understand course material, prepare effectively for exams, and achieve higher grades. Enhanced Career Guidance. The app's access to experiences and insights of those already working in the industry would offer students valuable guidance on career paths, industry expectations, and professional development, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
AXCEL is targeted at university students in Uganda, with a focus on providing equal access to quality educational resources, academic support, and career guidance to all. This project is particularly beneficial to students in rural or disadvantaged areas of Uganda, where access to quality educational materials and facilities is limited. Additionally, students from low-income backgrounds, who may face financial constraints or lack exposure to career opportunities, would greatly benefit from AXCEL's resources and guidance. AXCEL also aims to support students who are struggling with their academics, providing them with the extra help they need to get back on track, as well as those who are striving to reach their full academic potential, offering them the tools and resources to excel even higher. Ultimately, AXCEL aims to support all university students in Uganda, regardless of their background or location, in achieving their academic and career goals.

Muduuli Solange, an Auditor with 3 years of experience, proficient in audit software (Inflo, Pro Audit, Caseware) and Microsoft tools. Holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Makerere University and is currently pursuing ACCA certification. Daka Faith Busigu, a First-class honors Computer Science graduate from Makerere University, is a skilled Frontend Software Engineer with 4 years of experience in building and deploying user interfaces across various platforms. Adept in multiple aspects of software development, including planning, design, research, database management, and data analytics. Matthew Ntamara, a Statistician and Data Analyst, holds a degree from Makerere University. He has diverse skills in data analysis, web development, project planning, and marketing. Matthew has worked with various organizations, including Sterling Real Estate, Uganda Revenue Authority, Gulu University, and E-moolo Software Services.

By providing access to quality educational resources, AXCEL helps students acquire skills and knowledge, breaking the cycle of poverty through education. By targeting disadvantaged areas and low-income backgrounds, AXCEL promotes equal access to education, reducing inequality and promoting social mobility. Through offering career guidance and resources, AXCEL prepares students for the workforce, increasing their chances of securing better-paying jobs and improving their economic stability. By supporting students in achieving their academic and career goals, AXCEL empowers them to break free from poverty and improve their standards of living. The value proposition, values and strategies of AXCEL contribute to reducing poverty and promoting economic growth, aligning with the United Nations' SDG 1: No Poverty.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?
There are a number of universities that that adopted an online learning platform, but quite like AXCEL. AXCEL would not be limited to universities, any one who is pursuing a university course would be able to access the resources on the AXCEL platform. It isn’t limited like the others.
10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?
Yes. I’m supporting them through purchasing their items and helping them market the items on their request.
