Steward Harvest is focusing on better human activities/ practices that make us better stewards for the world today to preserve a better world for the next generation. We focus on modern agricultural practices and green energy production.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

Steward Harvest is looking at supply bottled biomethane for direct cooking and heating and electricity for lighting and other electrical purposes. This will be done in two models; on demand sells, and pay as you go. The focus is to make this as cheap as possible for a low-income earner in the African rural areas. This will help quicken the adoption and distribution of green energy resources that will lead to the substitution of unclean energy sources like crude oil products and traditional energy sources like firewood and charcoal. Steward harvest is looking at setting up biogas generators at household level, community level, and village/ municipal level. The Biogas generators will be able to produce biogas that is bottled by Steward Harvest and distributed to households to replace traditional energy sources. The generators will also produce electricity for direct household use or community level use.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

80 per cent of the households in Africa today still use traditional energy sources for heating and cooking requirements. This has significant effects on both the environment through deforestation and carbon emissions, hence global warming and health of household occupants through household air pollution. Steward Harvest is looking at a planned distribution of clean, affordable bio methane to household both in rural and urban areas to replace the use of traditional energy sources and crude oil/petroleum products.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

By developing, producing and distributing affordable bottled biomethane for the disadvantaged communities will reduce deforestation by eliminating the use of firewood and charcoal. Secondly it will reduces the high rates of household air pollution in Africa due to the use of traditional energy sources. Thirdly it will improve waste management since waste is used as raw materials. Fourthly it will produce clean renewable electricity. Final but not least, there will be total reduction in green house gases emissions since the system is zero carbon emitting.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

Steward Harvest is mostly focusing on the disadvantaged low income people in rural areas who still use traditional energy sources like charcoal and firewood that are harmful to both their health and the sustainability of the environment. Our target is to help people who are financially incapable to transition to green and sustainable energy sources because of its high capital requirements.

Racheal Nambuba is a social worker focusing on improving the livelihoods on disadvantaged young. She has a bachelor's degree in social works and she's a certified project manager. She has a working experience of over 5 years. Ibrahim Waswa is an environmental engineer and an occupational health and safety expert. He holds a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering. The product has been available but not reliable. The innovation we have made makes it reliable and affordable.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

Our competitors are LPG products. But these are quite expensive, not sustainable and unclean. This makes us stand out because our product is affordable, sustainable and clean.

Yes. I have supported my wife who has become a great social and business leader. I encourage women to take on leadership and job opportunities
