FormulateUganda is a project dedicated to promoting the adoption and development of products using 3D printing technology in Uganda. I'm aiming for a future where Uganda is at the forefront of Mass-product Manufacturing using 3D printing technology

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

With the primary aim of creating structures for individuals,businesses and organizations to access information and resources to better understand and utilize the benefits of Mass product Manufacturing using our In-house 3dprinting machines,tools & skills. Our integral plans include: - fore-fronting 3d Education, Driving innovation and growth of the 3Dprinting industry in Uganda. Helping to transform the way products are designed, developed and manufactured in the Country with low recyclable material wastage & Mass customization, With the help of our in-house developed designs & Products that will include replacement parts for the medical devices, automotive parts, prosthetic parts, interior and outdoor 3d printed products like Lighting’s & 3d Promotional Merchandise for companies that will help drive & promote different organizations messages .With Formulate Africa i aim towards a future where Uganda is at the forefront of Mass-product Manufacturing using 3Dprinting technology.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Problem: High Product Manufacturing Costs, Long Lead times, The steel/aluminum molds that are used with Traditional injection molding to make plastic parts can take months to machine & can only be done in China currently. The injection molder sends a customer part samples for functional testing & dimensional measurements. If initial samples aren’t suitable, the mold maker has to adjust the tool, which extends project and product manufacturing timetables. With Formulate-Uganda: I’m aiming to streamline manufacturing through making it more efficient and cost effective, supporting low-volume production runs for new manufacturers. Setting up Formulate-Uganda will provide a very ideal alternative to Injection Molding that is currently led by Mukwano Group & Nice Group. Parts will be manufactured using low cost recyclable materials without the up front cost and long term storage costs enabling us to revolutionize the way we manufacture products and maximize Innovations in the country

Enabling Mass Product Manufacturing Without the need for Molds hence eliminating the need for shipping, warehousing,minimum Order quantities & the limitations of achieving complex designs with traditional manufacturing hence minimizing the costs of plastics product Manufacturing easing replacement parts manufacturing and boosting manufacturing in all sectors where 3d printing is applicable like the medical, auto-motives, energy and architectural sectors

with the establishment of formulate-Uganda, Cooperate social Responsibilities will be a part of Our structure with which i aim to design and create low cost irrigational spraying drones that shall be used in Ugandas broad refugee community agricultural setups based in the rural areas, with this i strongly believe we shall have layed a brick in eliminating hunger with boosting agriculture in the refugee communities.

My Primary goal with Formulate Uganda is to revolutionalize manufacturing with using more advanced technologies that sustain health labor practices for all ages. with the use of 3d printing to manufacture our Products potential for less or no injuries as their is limited number of workers and use of highly risky equipment in our manufacturing processes.

The African Union (AU) Agenda 2063 identifies manufacturing as a fundamental conduit of sociol-economic growth and development for the African continent. With our in-house3D Printing (Additive Manufacturing) technologies we can facilitate and enable research & development, rapid prototyping, rapid tooling, rapid manufacturing, and digital mass customization in Africa. The mission to transform the Uganda from a raw material provider to an end-use product provider “Buy Uganda Build Uganda” can only be achieved by incorporating the right manufacturing technologies strategically which shall be a part of our setup.

3D printing Can change the country with offering cutting-edge technology, industry-specific training, and a wide range of products and services for different sectors like creating replacing parts for the automotive industry and unique items for the interior design industry in Uganda, Its very uncommon finding a society that is skilled with Product Manufacturing Skills and knowledge in Uganda, with the establishment of Formulate Uganda we believe I will pioneer the integration of Mass product manufacturing using 3d Printing Technology in Uganda

Currently there is none as we don’t have a mass product manufacturing 3d Print Farm in Uganda, what makes me stand out Is the use of modern software’s to achieve perfect designs that can be mass produced using 3d printing Technology
