Describe your project or startup in a few words
EduFast medical is a healthtech specifically tailored for the health needs of school going children through providing comprehensive medical checkups, personal healthcare and telemedicine with the goal of reducing health related absenteeism in schools.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
EduFast Medical Services addresses the critical gap in healthcare within Ugandan educational institutions by ensuring comprehensive medical assessments for students. Many schools distribute medical forms, but these are often completed without conducting the necessary tests, posing significant health risks. EduFast provides affordable and accessible healthcare solutions, including on-site medical check-ups and a dynamic health database system. This system records student health data, enabling proactive interventions and personalized care throughout the academic term. We offer three tailored packages: Platinum, Silver, and Gold; covering a range of essential medical tests at different price points. Our mission is to revolutionize healthcare in schools by promoting preventive care, early intervention, and health education, creating a healthier learning environment.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The main problem EduFast Medical Services aims to solve is the inadequate and often neglected medical assessments within Ugandan educational institutions. Schools routinely distribute medical forms requiring various tests, but these forms are frequently completed without conducting the actual tests, leaving students vulnerable to undetected and untreated health conditions. Additionally, when tests are conducted, the costs can be prohibitively high, making essential healthcare services inaccessible for many students and their families. This lack of proper medical attention compromises student health and well-being, leading to potential health crises and impacting academic performance. EduFast seeks to bridge this gap by providing comprehensive, affordable, and accessible healthcare solutions tailored to the needs of schools, ensuring every student receives necessary medical assessments and interventions.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?
none exists within northern Uganda where we were founded, nationally our main competitors would be rocket health but they only carry out medical checkups and use partner clinics to do that on their behalf. But we do not only carry out comprehensive checkups, we enact an integrated approach to both personalized healthcare and telemedicine causing a shift from the traditional sick care provided upon checkups to a preventative healthcare. We also resource our own health personnel which increases accountability. Our project empowers health personnel, parents and students to look after their health. these are reasons why we stand out from our major competitor.
