Describe your project or startup in a few words
Making waste fabric and textile into sustainable fashion is the way to go.Every waste has potential to be valuable recycling it into fashion items is a fantastic way to save the planet from pollution
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
Due to the growing of the fast fashion style trends in the fashion industry in uganda ,the garments or textile manufacturers find themselves disposing of tonnes of left over fabrics and scraps. In addition consumers pay for owner ship rather than access of these clothing.Therfore in time of disposing these fabrics and worn textiles they find themselves disposing them off illegally or burning . Therefore reverse Lend is tackling these issues by introducing a software that will help address pre consumer waste for industrial up cycling. manufacturers measure the and trace amount fabrics and scrap so it can be reintroduced in the supply chain limiting the use of virgin materials and also employing local people who can collect these waste from allocated points to collect, sort, design, reproduce and distribute or sale. Lend style renting out recycled garments and crafts using from fabrics waste using AI ,it can help extend the lifecycle of clothing and delay it from going into landfills.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Fabric and textile waste management With the increase on the number of garment manufacturers and fast fashion which implies mass production, low prices and high volume sales alot of textile or clothing is being produced hence alot waste fabric and scraps. Consumers also buy alot styles and trends which they use for a short while and then dispose off in the land fill or burn which pollutes the environment. This has become a very big problem in the suburbs of Kampala as this waste ends up in water bodies drainage channels and land fills where it takes alot of time to decompose.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
Creating jobs for the local un employed youth and un employed stay home mothers.since the process involves identifying fabrics, collecting, sorting, designing creating it means more people are going to be employed . Reduces on pollution. globally fabric and textile waste is the main contributor of pollution in water bodies from dyes and landfills where fabric takes long to decompose.therfore with this project reduction in carbon emissions from illegal burning of textile and chemical pollution which is associated with textile manufacturing. It intends to create a sustainable It creates a sustainable lifestyle for consumers by reducing on waste but rather extend the life of a clothing and delay it from going into land fills.consumers are advised to adopt access (hire) rather than ownership.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
Textile and garment manufacturers manufacturers.in order to address to pre consumer up cycling they can be helped by the created software as a platform that allows them measure left over scraps so by tracing these fabrics they can be re introduced in the supply chain limiting the use of virgin materials. Un employed local youth.with the increases number of un employed youths in my community this is a great opportunity for them to earn an income as the process involves collection sorting designing reproducing and distribution Un employed stay home mothers as this can be done at the comfort of their homes that means they can sew or creat the crafts without leaving homes. Consumers those that don't have enough money to purchase at a full amount of a garment or craft from recycled fabric and still those that want to dispose them off into the landfills or burning they have where to dispose it. Lastly the environment which has water bodies the drainage system.

6
02.03.02 Good health and well-being - Justification
Waste fabric or scrap delays in the land fills where it's dumped so by limiting it there will be limited chemical pollution, carbon emissions which means good health and proper well being
02.04.01 My project contributes to the Quality education goal
7 - Strongly Agree
02.04.02 Quality education - Justification
With a sustainable income from employment of people and a sustainable lifestyle of consumers saving on renting garments there is saving. therefore people will afford to afford a lifelong quality education for their children. In addition to that all hired members are training mentored and coached with techniques and technology of recycling waste.
02.05.01 My project contributes to the Gender equality goal
6
02.05.02 Gender equality - Justification
Since all genders are to be employed, the focus is mainly on stay home mothers, house wives and girls that have dropped out of school.when they are trained on how to make useful crafts out of waste .they can resale and earn a living.
02.06.01 My project contributes to the Clean water and sanitation goal
7 - Strongly Agree
02.06.02 Clean water and sanitation - Justification
There's limited emission of carbon into the environment, emission of chemical waste into water bodies
02.07.01 My project contributes to the Affordable and clean energy goal

02.09.01 My project contributes to the Industry innovation and infrastructure
7 - Strongly Agree
02.09.02 Industry innovation and infrastructure - Justification
Garment and textiles manufacturer are going to be introduced to a software that can help them track scrap and leftover fabric so that that they can track and limit using new material.
02.10.01 My project contributes to the Reduced inequalities goal
5
02.10.02 Reduced inequalities - Justification
By sharing what works for one country in terms waste management and environmental protection information can be shared among stake holders of different countries.

7 - Strongly Agree
02.12.02 Responsible consumption and production - Justification
A sustainable consumption consumers are able to adopt a lifestyle where by if they can't afford purchasing a product or a service they can hire it out.they are capable of disposing of clothes or fabrics that they are not interested in instead of just dumping or burning.these can be be designed for future use and lengthening the life span of a fabric or textile.
02.13.01 My project contributes to the Climate action goal
7 - Strongly Agree
02.13.02 Climate action - Justification
It minimisez waste and resources are conserved.this is because fabric waste recycling limits carbon emissions, they cannot be thrown into water bodies hence reduces on blocking of water chanels.

7 - Strongly Agree
05.08 Justification
With creating a software for garment manufacturers it will be an eye opener for them to see how much they have been loosing in waste . With the old service that has been in practice is pick the garbage and burn it or dump it in an allocated area so with this service we are recycling into something useful in addition to that it's an extension to what is in practice but this time round adding value. This service is demand as many communities and cities get stuck with alot of waste with no where to dump it or they don't know what to use it for so this is a great opportunity
