Mkono wa Mitindo"(FASHION HAND) is a project to establish a sewing center with sewing machines. The goal is to support local fashion designers, create jobs, and promote Tanzanian fashion. Sewing Center Setup:To equip a space with 20 or more sewing machines and essential tools for fashion design and garment making. Provide a workspace for designers, tailors, and seamstresses. Training Programs:Offer training to aspiring designers and tailors in garment construction, pattern making, and sewing techniques.Provide guidance from experienced trainers to help participants develop their skills especially those who are not expertise. Organize fashion shows and events to showcase local designs and attract customers. IMPACT OF THE PROJECT Socially: Empower women and youth through skills training and employment. Economically: Generate income and support local businesses. Culturally: Celebrate Tanzanian fashion and creativity. Environmental: Promote sustainable fashion practices in our Country.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The main problem that "Mkono wa Mitindo" aims to solve is unemployment and lack of opportunities in the fashion industry in Tanzania, especially among youth and women. Underutilization of Local Talent: Sknce in our country there is a wealth of untapped creative talent in Tanzania that needs nurturing and support. By providing a supportive environment and necessary resources, the project fosters local talent and innovation in fashion design and inturn help to resolve the problem of employment to some of them and improving their standard of living. Lack of Skills and Training:Many aspiring designers and tailors lack access to proper training and resources.The project provides training programs to equip individuals with the necessary skills to succeed in the fashion industry.
