Aims at simplifying student’s life at educational levels by solving problems like theft in schools. Also there’s a common issue for Uni students to not have access to hostels post first year, in which we made it our prime goal to tackle such adversities.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

STUDENT ASSISTANCE introduces a smart watch system for educational institutions, addressing common issues from primary to university levels. It allows for time management, alarms, and doubles as a payment method. This innovation reduces theft risks, monitors attendance, and provides canteen credit but also streamlines (pay on time) school fee payments through a pop up message reminder from parents phone once they have downloaded our designated app. Additionally, we offer student hostels with WiFi, breakfast, comfortable bedding, and affordable rates to tackle accommodation challenges post-first year period at the University level. In summary, our project targets the following main problems; 1. Manual school fee payments leading to inefficiencies. 2. Lack of effective student attendance monitoring. 3. Accommodation challenges for students at Universities, especially after completing their first year. 4: Parents forgetting to pay school fees on time. 5: Theft in schools.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The major issues we tackle is the manual process of school fee payments, which can be cumbersome and prone to errors. By introducing a smart system that acts as a modern payment method, we streamline the fee payment process for parents and guardians via our app. Also our smart watch system not only saves time and effort but also reduces the risks associated with carrying cash to schools, thereby minimizing theft incidents.Another problem we aim to solve is the monitoring of student attendance. With our smart watch system, schools can easily track student attendance through automated check-ins, providing real-time data for better decision-making and intervention. This helps improve overall student accountability & engagement in their education. Furthermore, we address the challenge of student accommodation, particularly for University students transitioning to their second year. Many students face difficulties finding suitable and affordable housing options with essential amenities.

1.Streamlined school Fee Payments:Offers a modern pay method through its app, simplifying the often-manual process of school fee payments for parents and guardians. 2. Reduced Risk of Theft: Introduction of a smart watch system, reduces the risk of theft incidents associated with carrying cash to schools. 3. Automated Attendance Monitoring: Schools can easily track student attendance through automated check-ins via the smart watch system. 4. Improved Student Accommodation: Addresses the challenge of finding suitable and affordable housing options for students, particularly those transitioning to their second year of university, by providing student hostels with essential amenities at budget-friendly prices. 5.Conducive Learning Environment: By ensuring students have access to safe and comfortable living spaces with amenities like WiFi and breakfast facilities. 6. Enhanced Parental Engagement: The app features reminder pop-up messages to prompt parents to pay school fees on time.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

For Hostels there’s only 1 competitor, BASIL LINK who spans his business in a small scale manner. But for smart watch and automated pay systems in the educational sector there are still no competitors hence giving us a more competitive advantage to upscale our business and diversify it in more ways in the future long run.

Yes, I work with my friends who are female colleagues for sole purpose of advice seeking and by working together we accomplish different projects for our own personal benefit and to make a difference in life.
