Describe your project or startup in a few words
GREEN ZERO aims to tackle high costs of infrastructure in vast areas by using plastic pellets in asphalt for roads to enhance thermal stability. Also repurpose waste into building materials crucial for constructing schools and hospitals in rural regions.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
GREEN ZERO has a digitalized waste management system that utilizes RFID technology to track waste from collection to conversion. The converted products are then transported to sectors like road construction, manufacturing industries to make flip flops sandals, construction sites while also time delivery is strictly maintained. Waste is converted through our 4 main waste conversion processes depending with the type of waste either through; pyrolysis, carbonization, gasification and torrefaction, producing products like syngas, biochar for soil, methane, and tar. Our goal is to turn all waste into useful products aligning with our motto of "converting Trash into cash." Additionally, SynGas as a byproduct has alot of advantages as it can be used in energy generation therefore offseting our electricity & energy costs in the long-run. GREEN ZERO’s objective is to repurpose our wastes to useful products that can be utilized instead of polluting the environment.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
1. Environmental Pollution Reduction:Helps in reducing environmental pollution caused by improper waste disposal methods. 2. Resource Conservation:Converting waste into products like syngas, biochar, methane, and tar contributes to resource conservation by utilizing waste materials that would otherwise be discarded. 3. Energy Efficiency:Utilizing syngas for energy generation helps in offsetting electricity and energy costs, contributing to long-term sustainability and energy independence. 4. Circular Economy Promotion: It promotes a circular economy by transforming waste into valuable resources thereby reducing the dependence on virgin materials & contributing to a more sustainable production and consumption cycle. 5. Improved Waste Management Practices:Implement RFID technology to track waste from collection to conversion ensures efficient waste management practices & enhances transparency in the waste management process. 6. Creation of Economic Opportunities 7 Soil Improvement.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
1.Reduction of Waste: These processes can significantly reduce the volume of waste materials, especially organic wastes that are otherwise difficult to manage or dispose of. 2.Production of Useful Products: By converting waste into products such as biofuels, biochar, and syngas, the project can contribute to energy generation, resource recovery, and environmental sustainability. 3.Environmental Impact: These processes can reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional waste disposal methods like landfilling or incineration. 4.Economic Opportunities: There are economic opportunities in terms of producing valuable products from waste materials, which can potentially create jobs and support local economies. 5.Soil Health Improvement:Producing biochar from waste for soil enrichment helps improve soil fertility & health supporting sustainable agriculture practices and ecosystem restoration.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
1. Municipalities and Local Governments:supports municipalities & local governments in efficiently managing and reducing waste. This can lead to cost savings in waste disposal and landfill management. 2. Industries & Manufacturers:Industries benefit from Green Zero's converted products which can be used in manufacturing processes, thereby reducing raw material costs and promoting sustainable production practices. 3. Construction Sector:Construction sites can utilize it’s products contributing to sustainable building practices. 4. Agricultural Sector:Farmers benefit from Green Zero's biochar, which improves soil fertility & health, leading to increased crop yields & reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers. 5. Energy Sector:Syngas produced can be used in energy generation, benefiting both residential and commercial sectors. 6.
