Describe your project or startup in a few words

My project is concerned with celling fruits, vegetable and fresh juice. Am carrying the project to help the community to nourish their health and nutrition. I have located the project in the center of Morogoro where people are able to access my products.

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

My business is to sell fruits, vegetation and to making natural juice for addressing the problem of poor nutrition and health among the people in Morogoro Municipality, Tanzania. A daily intake of fruits and vegetables (FV) is recommended for protection against almost all major non-communicable diseases (NCDs) unfortunately almost all Tanzanians (>95%) consumed insufficient fruits and vegetation (Msambichaka et al,. 2018). This has motivated me to start a center where I cell fruits of different varieties, vegetation and to make juice from fresh juice. By having a fruits and vegetation center that is near to area where people come always to purchase basic needs has inspired many people to buy fruits, vegetation and fresh juice for their diet. The range of people who buy fruits and vegetation increases daily up to more than 100 people per day. I am buying the fruits and vegetations from farmers in Kiloka village, Mzinga ward and Lukobe ward in Morogoro Tanzania.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

In my project am solving the problem of poor health, nutrition and malnutrition among children in the family. As researched in literature that daily intake of fruits and vegetables (FV) is recommended for protection against almost all major non-communicable diseases (NCDs) unfortunately almost all Tanzanians (>95%) consumed insufficient fruits and vegetation (Msambichaka et al,. 2018). Therefore i have decided to embark on selling fruits, vegetations and fresh juice in a conducive environment to help people to access a key element of nutrition for building their health.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).

The benefit of fruits, vegetation and fresh juice are: 1. To improve the health and body fitness of people in Morogoro, Tanzania. 2. To enhance nutrition among children and reduces non-communicable diseases. 3. To reduce malnutrition among born babies.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

My project is aiming at improving health and nutrition among people in Morogoro. Am targeting the community of Morogoro, especially youth, pregnant mothers, young children and adult people whose health requires fruits elements like Zink, Calcium, Phosphorus and Copper.

As i mentioned i don't have partner in busness. Those who are are co-working with me are: Shabani Idd: He is a form four leaver. He has practical experience in business and customer care. Diana Peter: She is a form four leaver. She has a practical experience in making fresh juice, customer care and she is creative on making good flavor of juice. Novatus Evodius: He is a form four leaver. He has experience in supervising business, contact with farmers and to make follow up of profits and loss on the business.

By selling Fruits, vegetation and fresh juice, am i have improved the life of three youth who are serving at my fruit center. I am buying a tones of water melons and other fruits from farmers almost after every week. By doing so am solving the challenge of market among farmers and contributing to the advancement of their life. Furthermore, people who take fruits from my center tend to improve their health and increases participation in building economic and reduces dependencies.

This enhance to end hunger, achieve food security and improve nutrition. Also by having constant buying of fruits and vegetation from farmers promote sustainable agriculture.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

The main competitors are people with restaurants and hotels who sell food with the bonus of fruits and juice. Am making unique juice and offer customer care to enhance people feel welcoming at my business center.

Yes. am guiding, advising and helping them to start small business in Tanzania.
