01.01 Describe your project in more detail
PregNut is a project that aims to provide a platform where knowledge can be shared and provide a community of preexisting parents, pregnant parents and those who want to be pregnant. The project is single-handled by the App through which: 1. Formation of communities and easy integration between medical personnel and the target audience. This increases the pool of knowledge-sharing. Provide a safe space for people with similar concerns. 2. Ease the pregnancy progress tracking and familiarise with body changes for the mother as well as the baby's growth. as well as monitoring their health and symptoms management 3. Be able to work with other organisations in creating awareness, providing education, and seeking solutions to ease the whole pregnancy journey, especially in rural areas where there are limited services and poor infrastructures.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The project intends to solve several problems such as follows; 1. Emergency and medical information; provide easy access to medical records, information on managing complications and contacts in an emergency. 2. Proper community and support; Many pregnant women lack a proper support system due to several factors. we aim to bridge that gap by not only creating a platform for people with similar cases but also have professionals provide their knowledge 3. Health monitoring and symptoms management; Provide enough knowledge on topics such as HPB, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, and preterm labor. Send reminders through the app and text messages in areas with limited internet services and those who cannot afford smartphones. 4. Raise awareness and assist in offering some solutions to problems faced by pregnant parents in developing countries. This includes hosting events to educate, to assist in bettering infrastructures for safe pregnancy, delivery and raising healthy children.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
1. Find a community full of people with different occupations, knowledge, and experience who can be of great help throughout pregnancy and raising children. It is also a source of emotional support for both parents. 2. Effective pregnancy progress tracking personalized from the last period till due date and all the weeks in between. 3. Systematic health monitoring and symptom management. Records of all doctor visits, weight and blood pressure stored 4. Emergency education and mitigation techniques. The app provides a map showing nearby hospitals and clinics near you in case of emergency together with a record of all doctor's visits. Articles dedicated to knowing symptoms that could be catastrophic and when to visit the doctor. 5. Easy access to clear information and education. Despite everyone sharing their knowledge and experience, articles in the app are regulated and by no chance are they a substitute for a doctor's visit. 6. 01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
This project aims to serve people in developing countries especially in Africa. They are divided into three categories 1. Pregnant parents; The project aims at bringing information and professionals such as midwives, and doctors closer and easily accessible. Even in rural areas where there is limited internet through text messages and physical seminars. How to take care of themselves, their health, nutrition for a safe and healthy pregnancy 2. Parents; although the project mainly targets pregnant parents the cycle becomes complete when there is a sharing of experiences since all pregnancies are different. Also, factors such as single parenting; the community can provide support. 3. People looking to get pregnant. This project intends to bring awareness to topics such as contraception, fertility, IVF and other factors that affect pregnancy in depth and how to be prepared.

Our main competitors include apps like Flo, Pregnancy, women’s pregnancy. What makes us stand out is we are an app made specifically with Africans in mind. Hence putting in mind cultural sensitivity, language and accessibility, major focus on health issues such as malaria, HIV and anemia which are more common in Africa. Without forgetting educational resources with information on local health care systems, providing community support, nutritional guidance, technology and infrastructures
