FIMA, making Fashion African
Describe your project or startup in a few words
FIMA is an Afritude-like clothing and shoe brand& shop for both male and female. Prioritizing prêt-à-porter but also deals with orders and delivery. To be Based in Yaoundé we wish helping orphans and IDPs to acquire lucrative skills in tailoring & more.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
If you are tired of tailors who take 2 weeks to get your work done, come to us and get it as from 4 days. More so, if you are not close to us but have a particular design you wish to get, go to the closest tailoring shop, let them get your measurements, send to us and your design, and get it delivered or stop at our shop premises. Goals and Vision; Provide quality and fashion for all, at all prices. Provide exceptional customer service. Make a difference through our branding, staying ahead of fashion trends. Provide long lasting employment for youths. Get best deals in terms of partnership. Be a reference in terms of helping orphans, disfavoured girls and IDPs to acquire lucrative skills. Build a long lasting and stable source of income. Product differentiation; Our prime means of distinction is our loyalty program and easy way of getting to us via social media. Hard to find sizes are also made available, one will notice that we have niched down as we aren’t a regular shop.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
The stereotype that elegant, office, ceremonial or casual wears are only those we see or receive from out of Cameroon, from out of Africa, by using our local fabrics and hands to boost the internal economy we spread a message of self dependency and bring African and Cameroonian glamour into high standard fashion. A lot of people admire and love chic afritude designs but never have the patience to order or go long distances looking for such. That is where our social media platforms, home delivery and prêt-à-porter come into the game. Equally the great unemployment percentage amongst youths and especially the disfavoured kids.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
We have a unique brand that caters to all age groups and sizes and fashionable customers who are looking for affordable and quality clothing. Nationwide delivery which allows customers to send in their measurements and receive their orders without needing to visit the shop.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
Youths, as this will need the activeness and energy of youths, hence fostering employment. With my zeal for corporate social responsibility, organising free work shops on teaching lucrative skills such as tailoring,, designing, making of footwear & business knowledge will give back to the society heavily. Also employing internally displaced youths and orphans will hinder the frustration and silent call to Juvenile delinquency. More our ideal customer is anyone Interested in elegant wears for office, functions, or day to day activities.

05.08 Justification
We intend to personalize our customers stay in our shop with a fresh and modern environment, easily accessible and free snacks once seen as a potential buyer. On ground shall also be beverages a customer can buy. Equally we can be felt through brand differentiation as all our original products will have the composition label and the brand initials. Customer convenience. That is selling of accessory, shoes and perfumes to complete attires. In such way customers know that they can come get their complete attire without the stress of getting any other items and once a customer is there, we can easily lure him/her into getting another article. Use the seasons to our advantage. End of year festivities give the highest sales deals to clothing shop owners. But during the year, one can still stay very lucrative through other festivities. Advertising red and white clothing when ST. Valentine is approaching, or Muslim looking attires when Ramadan is on its way, more so Mother's Day discounts.
05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?
We might face intense competition from other clothing stores like the tailoring shops known in the popular quarter "briqueterie" or brands that try to offer similar products or services with more aggressive marketing strategies. But we will have a strong online presence and a user-friendly website that showcases our products and brand personality. We will have a competitive advantage in terms of pricing, quality, and customer service. We will have outstanding product differentiation.
10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?
YES through employment and free workshops.
