01.01 Describe your project in more detail

E Life Saver is a mobile application designed to address the critical issue of blood shortages in Cameroon. Our app helps patients find blood donors by sending blood appeals to potential donors based on their blood group and geographical location. This ensures that appeals are directed to the most suitable and nearby donors, increasing the chances of a quick response. The QR code system simplifies the process, allowing people to send blood appeals easily, even without scanning the code. Beyond just connecting patients with donors, E Life Saver focuses on creating new donors through education and awareness. Many people are unaware of the importance of blood donation and the genuine need for it. We conduct regular blood donation campaigns to educate the population about the critical role of blood donation and its impact on saving lives. Additionally, we offer incentives such as credits to donors, which can be redeemed for discounts on their medical bills.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The main problem E Life Saver aims to solve is the critical shortage of blood available for transfusions in Cameroon. Many patients, especially in emergency situations, struggle to find compatible blood donors promptly, leading to preventable complications and fatalities. Current blood donation processes are often inefficient and rely heavily on manual methods such as social media posts and phone calls, which are time-consuming and unreliable. This lack of a streamlined system results in delays, limited donor engagement, and inadequate supply to meet the demand. By providing a mobile application that connects patients with registered donors through a QR code system, E Life Saver addresses these inefficiencies, ensuring timely and effective blood donations. Our solution not only improves the speed and reliability of finding donors but also fosters a culture of regular blood donation through continuous engagement and incentives, ultimately enhancing healthcare outcomes and saving lives.

1. Easy and more reliable way to find blood donors: E Life Saver streamlines blood donation by sending targeted blood appeals to registered donors based on their blood group and location. This ensures quicker responses and reduces patient wait times for compatible donors. 2. Increased Number of available donors: Our app incentivizes regular blood donation with personalized acknowledgment messages, donation bracelets, and credits redeemable for medical bill discounts. These incentives motivate donors to participate consistently, creating a reliable donor network. 3. Community Education and Awareness: E Life Saver conducts regular campaigns to educate the public about the importance of blood donation. By raising awareness and informing people about the impact of their donations, we foster a culture of regular blood donation, increasing the number of potential donors and ensuring community support.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

E Life Saver is aimed at serving patients in need of blood transfusions across Cameroon. The primary beneficiaries are individuals facing medical emergencies, surgeries, or chronic conditions that require timely blood donations. Our project also targets potential blood donors, particularly the younger generation, by educating them about the importance of blood donation and encouraging their participation. Additionally, healthcare institutions and blood banks benefit from a more efficient and reliable system for managing blood donations and appeals. By creating a streamlined process and fostering a culture of regular blood donation, E Life Saver ultimately aims to serve the broader community by improving healthcare outcomes and saving lives.

E Life Saver is unique and innovative because it leverages mobile technology to streamline the blood donation process, using QR codes to quickly send blood appeals to registered donors based on their blood type and location. Unlike traditional methods, it incorporates automated acknowledgments, personalized donor incentives, and educational campaigns to continuously encourage blood donations. This holistic approach not only addresses blood shortages but also creates a culture of regular blood donation through community engagement and technology.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

Our main competitors include Waspito and Bloodtrack. Waspito focuses on telehealth services, such as e-consultations, rather than directly addressing blood donation. Bloodtrack promotes blood donation and recruits donors but manages the process manually, leading to inefficiencies. E Life Saver stands out by offering a streamlined, automated platform for sending blood appeals based on blood type and location. We provide continuous donor engagement through acknowledgment messages, personalized donation bracelets, and credits for medical discounts, creating a whole generation of donors as well through our educative campaigns while they are yet young, creating a future where we will eliminate blood shortage in general, there by ensuring that users who come to find a blood donor through our application will always find them.
