Our project majorly deals with plastic waste recycling. We collect the waste plastics from the general environment,sort into different types and colors,crush them into smaller particles, and then sold to companies that use recycled plastic material.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

Our startup project deals with plastic waste management,we basically collect the waste plastic from the general environment transport it to our working area, we then carefully sort them into different types such as HDPE, PP,PVC,LD. These well sorted plastic wastes,are then crushed into smaller particles.The crushed particles are then sold to companies that use recycled plastic as raw material.This reduces the problem of plastic waste accumulation in the general environment,coz it reduces the production of virgin plastic material.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

As developing countries,we face a major problem of waste. Plastic waste being one of the major among the waste produced. Recycling waste plastic, reduces/combat the huge problem of waste dumped in the general environment and landfills. These reduces the production of methane gas that is a Greenhouse gas,also production of virgin material from petroleum emits greenhouse gases that affects the climate negatively.

Recycled plastic material are readly available in the general environment. Production of virgin material is more expensive than using the recycled. The emission of Greenhouse gasses is also controlled and limited hence maintaining a good climate.

Plastic are used in a variety of items,home and kitchenwaee, electronics, clothing etc. There is a bigger market for plastic as a raw material to companies that use plastic as raw material. This makes the Market for recycled plastic to those who use as raw material huge.hence there is need for recycled plastic.

06.08 Justification for my startup

The demand for recycled plastic material is high. Purchase of virgin material is way more expensive than using the recycled plastic material.These makes the demand for recycled plastic material to be higher than that of virgin material.

06.09 Competitive Analysis

My main competitors are those who recycle plastic and add an additional value,by washing and pelletizing. Pellets tend to fetch bigger and lucrative markets than the crushed ones.They also have enough capital to run there operations unlimited. My main strong point is that am well informed and posses good communication skills to those who operate collection centers.

11.05 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?

Yes. Involving women in the recycling industry. Opening collection centers to be runed by women.
