Apitherapy uses bee products to treat various diseases and conditions as Havilah Apitherapy Center we provide value-added products from Bees so that you can enjoy all the therapeutic properties of these products. We also promote sustainable beekeeping.

Havilah Apitherapy and Nutrition Centre Ltd is a social enterprise that provides a holistic approach to health and wellness using bee products such as honey, Propolis, royal jelly, bee venom and pollen. We also promote sustainable beekeeping practices for rural development through training of beekeepers and sourcing for the market of their produce through value addition.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Through our products, we are solving two major problems that are issues with health and wellness and the other major problem is the end of poverty and hunger in rural parts of Kenya. Due to the increase in chronic diseases experienced in society coupled with the high cost of getting treatment on conventional medicine, many people have natural remedies to improve their health and wellness. Research has proved that Bee products such as honey, propolis and bee venom are good in boosting immunity and treatment ranging from respiratory, skin and hair conditions and arthritis. Havilah Apitherapy Center specialized in the production and value addition of bee products in order to meet the demand and maintained a high standard of quality. To ensure we have a quality and a steady supply of raw materials we trained farmers on modern sustainable beekeeping practices further we buy their products resulting in development and reduction of poverty in rural areas.

Our products such as honey, propolis, royal jelly bee venom and pollen provide therapeutic properties and holistic approaches to health, immune boosting and treatment of different conditions such as respiratory (Flu and cold, asthma), Arthritis, back pain cuts, wounds among others. Our products are of high quality they are certified and meet all regulatory standards. We promote sustainable beekeeping practices through training and access to markets to local beekeepers supporting immune function, reducing inflammation, and promoting overall well-being without the side effects associated with synthetic drugs.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your startup’s product/service is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

Our target beneficiaries are people who are health conscious and want to be healthy We also target parents of young kids as we have products targeted to improving immunity of children. we also target beekeepers in provision of training on modern and sustainable beekeeping practices.

My other Owner is Kirui Vincent, He is the Director of Marketing and Operations, responsible for overseeing Finance, administration and marketing. He holds a Master of Science in Governance, a Certified Public Accountant and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry.

Through training of local beekeepers on modern and sustainable beekeeping, they are able to improve on quality and quantity of production resulting increase of income resulting in uplifting them from poverty. Through the provision of market access and value addition, they are able to sell raw bee products providing steady sources of income to rural farmers. The project also directly and indirectly provides employment with most of them being youths and women hence solving the problem of unemployment.

Our focus on bee products such as honey, Propolis, royal jelly, bee venom, and pollen provides natural alternatives for health and wellness. My main competitors are the National Beekeeping Institute and other companies dealing with bee products. Our competitive advantages are that most of our products are KEBS certified meaning its meets all the quality standards and are affordable and sourced form local farmers.
