GORDON FARM is a Agribusiness that produce fresh vegetables and green chilies to Kisumu city resident and neighborhood. To ensure continued supply of fresh vegetables, solar pump is required during dry season.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

The business supply Vegetables especially managu and green chilies to Kenya markets. During sunny season solar water pump is used to supply water for continued production. The solar pump reduces cost of production as compared to petrol water pump. However more solar and and powerful pump(s) are required to boost the farming.

Create employment, reduce air pollution and increase food production.

Since solar is the main source of energy, it reduces air pollution and increase supply of green chilies and vegetables during dry season .

Due to high demand of green chilies and indigenous vegetables both at villages and urban center, I thought it is wise to start this business other than looking for employment in town. Hence be self employed and employ others to earn a living.

Integration of solar in todays farming is a new technology that has been tested and its impacts has shown that it can highly increase food production at a low coast more so in dry areas .

My potential competitors are farmers from my area and other regions in Kenya who rely on rainfall and irrigation.. By ensuring continued supply of my farm produce by doing rotational farming and installation of solar to be used during sunny season will ensure continued supply of my produce as well as job retention to my employees.
