The project is a filing station (Fuelf point) in one of the rural areas of Kenya which is rapidly developing.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

Shiloh fuel point started as an idea so many years ago but was actualized once funds were availed through different sources such as personal savings, loans and grants from friends and well wishers who enabled me to get all the essential equipment such as underground tanks, a pump, station office and a shade which is yet to be completed. Piping has already been done and I am now stuck at the costs of calibration, commissioning and getting the petrol to strat business operations.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Lack of petrol for the residents of the whole sub-location. There is no fuel point in the whole of Marimani sub-location which pose a big problem when the vehicles or motorbikes run out of fuel.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your startup provides (at least 3).

This project will greatly benefit the people living around and also everyone who will be using the route because it will be a solution to fuel for the people living and using the route and at the same time provide profit to the owner so as to help people in other ways such as aid to orphans and widows.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your startup’s product/service is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

The startup is exactly aimed at serving bodabodas and any motor vehicle which will be using the route. Those are the beneficiaries of the project because for now, they commute for long distances to get the product.

The lady who is a co-worker studied CPA upto Diploma level which is an accounting course. But at the business, she is participating in daily overseeing of the operations

The project promotes zero hunger because, some people will get employed at the project for security purposes and also fueling and cleaning vehicles and motorbikes, also people will create employment opportunities for themselves such as repairs and foods and snacks which will generate income for their families.

As part of the plans for the project, the profits will be used to help the needy children and orphans who are in schools and also take some who have not been able to afford basic needs such as school uniforms to make them achieve their goals in life.

This product is an improvement of an existing product in a manner that, there were provisions of the similar product but in traditional ways where they used to bring it in bottles and cans selling it a relatively high prices, but now the product wil be offered in a decent way

The competitors are the traditional fuel sellers who sell in bottles and cans. This project is a modern startup and has no competitor of its kind.
