01.01 Describe your startup in more detail
Wekraft is a pioneering edtech startup transforming education for children across Africa. We bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world application through innovative, hands-on learning tools and activities. Catering to multiple intelligences, our diverse toolkits and interactive programs provide personalized learning experiences, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. We have three main approaches: In-person programs: Engaging workshops and training sessions that provide hands-on learning experiences, stimulating curiosity and critical thinking. Learning toolkits: Kits with materials and instructions for experiments and projects to enhance fine motor skills, logical thinking, and creativity. Digital platform: An online platform with educational resources, including videos, interactive lessons, and games, allowing self-paced learning and progress tracking. With partnerships in Kenya and Rwanda, we empower the next generation of thinkers and innovators.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
Today's education often lacks the personalized touch needed to engage young minds. Many children are stuck with one-size-fits-all lessons that fail to spark curiosity or cater to their unique learning styles. Traditional teaching methods, heavily focused on rote memorization, leave students disengaged and unprepared for real-life challenges that require critical thinking and practical skills. Wekraft aims to transform education by providing engaging, hands-on learning tools and activities that make education more meaningful and inclusive. We focus on nurturing various types of intelligence, challenging the conventional notion of what it means to be intelligent. Our mission is to inspire and empower every child to discover their passions, develop critical skills, and thrive in the 21st century.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your startup provides (at least 3).
1. Engagement and Curiosity: Our hands-on learning tools and activities make education exciting and interactive. By catering to different learning styles, we keep children engaged and eager to learn, fostering a lifelong love of knowledge. 2. Personalized Learning: We recognize that every child is unique. Our programs offer personalized learning experiences that nurture various types of intelligence, allowing each child to discover and develop their strengths. This approach helps build confidence and promotes a deeper understanding of the material. 3. Practical Skills Development: Traditional education often falls short in preparing students for real-life challenges. Our practical, career-aligned toolkits and programs focus on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and other essential skills needed in the 21st century. This prepares children not only for academic success but also for future careers and personal growth.

06.09 Competitive Analysis
Our main potential competitors include EduVate, LearningHub East Africa, and STEM Academy East Africa. EduVate offers digital learning platforms focusing on personalized education, but they lack the comprehensive hands-on toolkits that Wekraft provides. LearningHub East Africa excels in online courses and resources, yet they don't offer the in-person programs that bridge theory and practical application like we do. STEM Academy East Africa specializes in STEM education but often emphasizes traditional classroom settings without our innovative, interactive approach. What sets Wekraft apart is our multifaceted methodology—combining in-person programs, hands-on learning toolkits, and a robust digital platform. Additionally, we are the only edtech company that caters to diverse types of intelligence, ensuring personalized learning experiences that resonate with each child's unique strengths.
11.05 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?
Yes, I am actively initiating actions within my community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs. I volunteer at Soraya as a trainer, where I teach reproductive health education and entrepreneurship skills to teenage mothers from Mathare slums. My goal is to nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship among these young women, empowering them to become beacons of light in their communities. Through this initiative, I aim to inspire and support them in creating sustainable livelihoods and becoming role models for others.
