Describe your project or startup in a few words

My project is selling of secondhand handbags, but in future if I can get enough capital I will specialise on all other types of bags eg school bag,Travelling bags,shopping bags ,sport bags,makeup bags swimming bags.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

Hi,am Nancy Mutwa Muli aged 34 year,a single parent of 3 kids,a I live in a slum called Kibera in Nairobi Kenya. For the living i sell ladies handbags since am the only breadwinner of my 3 kids and my 5 siblings who also stays in Kibra slum in Nairobi Kenya since my mother is a mama vua(she washes cloth for the people and it is not guaranteed per week she can get that job once or twice)Because of that reason I have been struggling day and night to pay school fee of my 3 kids who are in primary school and my 2 siblings who are in high school my mother is also a single parent. As I said my business of selling ladies handbags is located in a market called Toi market which is also in Kibera slum in Nairobi Kenya.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

1.To pay school fee of my 3kids who are in primary school and my 2siblings who are in high school. 2.Since our house we stay in is in a very bad condition it is made of iron sheets one side and the other side mud which is almost collapsing down it's if I get money I will renovate it. 3.Also our latrine is full I have been struggling to get money in order to call people who removes that waste when it full but nothing is working out. 4.The owner who has been renting kibanda(shop) for me at market where my business has been taking place for those 2 years has given me a notice to ether by that kibanda Ksh 4000,000 otherwise he is going to sell it to somebody else's because he want to use that money for treatment of his mother who is addimmited at hospital suffering from kidney failure so have been struggling day and night inoder to rescue my shop from been sold to somebody else but nothing seems to work kidly it is my polite request help me plz.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your startup provides (at least 3).

1.I have been paying school fees of my 3kids. 2.I have been paying school fees of my siblings. 3.I have been providing food to my kids and my siblings. 2.since my husband left us have been able to cloth them feed them and also pay there school fees even if they have been in and out of school because I cannot afford to pay school fees on time.

01.04 Please describe who exactly your startup’s product/service is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

1.My kids because am the only parent who they are looking at to support them in other word am the mother and at same time father I will pay there school fees. 2.For sure our house is in a very BAD CONDITION because it is made of mud and old iron sheets which is almost collapsing down so my startup's product is going to help renovate it hence I and my kids benefitting from it. 5.I my self be a beneficiary because my kibanda (shop ) where I run my business is in a risk of being sold to another person because the owner told me is either I buy it or he bring other person to buy it because his mother is addimmited at hospital suffering from kidney failure and he want that money to take her to India for treatment as soon as possible yet I don't have that ksh 4000,000 he is selling that shop yet my customers were used to that shop it means if am not buying it am going to lost my customers so if I'll get that money am going to rescue my shop.

Within my startup am the only owner since I started With ksh 30,000 which I borrowed from my friend and from there I joined merry-go-round in the market I paid her through it The same money from merry-go-round I normally use it to support my business and pay school of my 3kids and my siblings who in high school because my mother's job is not guaranteed because she is a mama vua (she washes cloth for people in the slum)and per week she can get that job once or twice so she cannot depend on that money to pay school fees and she is widow.

Yes because mostly I do sell ladies handbags when they come to buy I do take short time talk to them and educate them the important of being self independent because since my husband left me have been standing firm with our kinds and educating them and giving them any support they need .
