Goldswitch Media Production is an upcoming film production crew that produces local films in form of series, short films and feature films. It includes both male and female youths and adults who are talented and passionate in acting.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

Goldswitch Media Production allows talented youths and adults to showcase their acting skills to the world and God willing earn something from it. Even though we are currently facing financial challenges to acquire more filming equipment, we are available for passionate upcoming actors out there so that we grow together. Currently, almost all of the members of Goldswitch Media Production are students at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology but we hope to expand and reach more talented actors nationally and even internationally. We hope to change the lives of the talented youths through filming, this is very possible since filming is currently a promising career globally.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Goldswitch Media Production is trying to help the youths out there who are struggling in hunger when they can easily showcase their acting skills to the world and earn a living from it. Filming can easily change someone's life, we see this everyday but the problem comes in joining the productions. The big productions will not easily give a listening ear to someone who comes empty handed. They will ask for a whole lot of enticement. Goldswitch Media Production is open to the financially poor but rich in talent youths out there struggling to make it in life.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your startup provides (at least 3).

Goldswitch Media Production produces films. Just to be straight forward,our films are very educative. Our script writers ensure that every story they write has a moral lesson to the society, both young and old. Secondly, our films are entertaining. It has come to our notice that many people of current generation are dying of depression and stress. We therefore offer quality films to keep our audience entertained and lively. Thirdly, Goldswitch Media Production is open for advertising products for our fans who run businesses to enable them reach more audience. Just to conclude, Goldswitch Media Production is available to employ youths as actors, video editors, script writers and camera operators.

I don't want to give it a hundred percentage because ending poverty is someone's work and choice. To be sincere, you may show someone how to earn money but still they use it for some fun and not to change their life for good. This is why I give it a 6.

Firstly, the actors and technical personnels such as the video editors will be earning income and this will enable them put something on the table. Also, our films through exhibiting some farming techniques that lead to high level of production, promote sustainable agriculture this improved nutrition just through use of the videos.

Through our films, encourage people of well-being and good health. For example, in a dinner scene, the character will be portrayed eating a balanced diet, others going to the gym and such like. With this, we show our audience how to live a good health and their well-being.

Yes. Goldswitch Media Production contributes to the industry innovation and infrastructure since it is a film production industry. Also, we showcase our beautiful infrastructure such as the roads and the buildings to the world in our films. By showcasing these beautiful buildings for example, some young men out there who wanted to build but had no idea of the house design to use may be impressed with the type of houses in the film and buy the idea. This improves the number of beautiful houses within and without our country. Also, filming pays thus the members of the production will have enough money to build and contribute to industry innovation and infrastructure.

06.08 Justification for my startup

It is true that there are other film production organizations out there but Goldswitch Media Production can be described as an extension of film industry to the local area, covering talented youths who are stuck in the world of poverty to lift them up and we hope to expand and improve to international level and collaborate with both casts from Kenya and other countries. Thus, Goldswitch Media Production is a new version of the old film production industries and we produce the modern films.

Our main competitors are film production organizations that produce Swahili or local language films and what makes us stand out is that we produce films in both English and Kiswahili language. This makes us capable of reaching the international level.
