Describe your project or startup in a few words

My project is all about buying small bulls worth about 15000-20000 and rearing them to later sell in local butchery and household. I also use the cattle manure in the farm to plant vegetables for consumption and Sale. I started on 21st July 2023 .

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

Bettech farm is an agricultural project . Farm in Meru county ,Kenya. We rear young bulls through feedlots program which take a maturity period of 12-18 months to mature . A investment idea by Betty that apart from bringing extra income to the owner is aimed to bring in food security and revenue to our country that is if we reach wider market . Guaranteed job security also as we need herdsman , vet doctor and animal feeds also . The start up is aimed to grow to a bigger farm with dairy products and value addition too . When the resources will adequate our farm will have regular trainings for local farmers hence more food security in Kenya and beyond. At Bettech farm we say . Agriculture is the backbone of Africa.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Among the so many problems our farm is solving . Food security is the major one . Our major produce is meat . Meat is the most loved protein in most household . We consume the produce in all seasons of the year and celebrations.Availability of meat will ensure affordable prices and constance supply. Job creation also is a solution that will help us have better food security as the salaries , wages and income that we get will be used to buy other foods and fruits for our families and dependant . Using the manure we get from the farm we plants vegetables like sukuma wiki and spinach that our workers consume and still take away to feed there families .

It is a protein source . It is a complete source of all amino acids . Cattle skin is beneficial also for making leather clothing and footwear. Coats and gloves made of cattle skin are best sources of warmth .

All households as cattle meat can be consumed by people including Children of 6 months and above . Corporate during end of year party and other parties . Hotels and restaurants.

I responded to strongly agree . Reason being food security is the best way to fight poverty. A hungry person may not be creative enough to offer solutions at the workplace and work hence no income or less income . My start will not only provide meat but also the manure will be put into the land hence our land will be fertile and more food produce . Vegetables also planted with the manure grow fast hence providing food in a short period of time .
