Munami cook stoves re-purpose locally sourced waste metal to manufacture improved, efficient, and reliable cookstoves and briquettes from sugarcane baggasse, then we partner with local women business owners to distribute to the last mile. Across Africa where kenya is based , 800 million people use traditional cookstoves, which emits harmful chemicals and lack safeguards. Munami clean stoves are different.In addition Africa, over 1 million deaths are attributed to household air pollution every year and the numbers just keeps rising, women and children are the most affected since they spend most of their time cooking with inefficient stoves. The virtues of replacing traditional stoves with improved cookstoves are well documented, from reducing exposure to hazardous air pollutants, lowering burns risk in children under the age of five, reducing fuel consumption costs and even and cooking time.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Burning solid fuels such as charcoal and agricultural waste in open fires and traditional stoves exposes families to air pollution levels as much as 50 times greater than the WHO guidelines for clean air. In Africa, over 1 million deaths are attributed to household air pollution every year and the numbers just keep on rising, women and children are the most affected since they spend most of their time cooking with inefficient stoves.our business support the dissemination and construction of improved cooking solutions for rural communities that primarily rely on unimproved, traditional cooking methods; most commonly the ‘three stone fire’. Particularly in rural areas, wood is the most important energy source for households, as alternatives are often unavailable or un -affordable

Rather than burning dangerous solid fuels, Munami Clean Stoves use processed biomass made from charcoal, wood and sugarcane. This burns cleaner, creating 90 percent less pollution than an open fire and 70 percent less than a traditional cookstove. They are cheaper too, costing just less US $10 and halving ongoing fuel costs. Our impact is as follows :- To Positively impact the health of slums and rural communities by significantly reducing toxic household air pollution (HAP). To Provide improved, reliable and affordable cook stoves to households at the base of pyramid that save costs on fuel consumption. To Support women and youth empowerment efforts through skills training and employing them as artisans and agents to market and sell the clean stoves in their communities. To create awareness on the impact of pollution and the benefits of clean energy to the communities .Reliance on wood fuel means that households are exposed to hazardous indoor air pollution,

Munami Clean cook Stoves is a business that produces clean, affordable and reliable cook stoves and briquettes targeting under-served markets to help mothers keep their children safe, save on fuel consumption and reduce household air pollution. Our Improved Cookstove business offer households subsidized or free clean cooking solutions, which are adapted to meet local customs and contexts. Reliance on wood fuel means that households are exposed to hazardous indoor air pollution, which is responsible for over 4 million premature deaths annually and contributes to several chronic illnesses. The predominant use of wood fuel for energy is also a significant driver of deforestation; and places a heavy burden on those who have to travel to collect the wood fuel, principally women and children.

Energy poverty cause many poor households to suffer more and spend more on cooking fuel and our business is reversing the situation through providing ,environmentally friendly cooking solution .When our business creates employment for both youth and women either through production or distribution of our products , Women and Youth who earns income and business makes money after selling both briquettes and cook stoves ,thus being to purchase food ,clothing and pay other bills comfortable ,in doing so there is no poverty .Income earned from business sells enable people acquire basic needs easily. Majority people using our energy saving technologies saves themselves hundreds if not thousands of shillings annually .In return no more poverty ravaging them again
