01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

Tanar holdings frozen food is a Frozen food company that will specializes in selling of fresh frozen foods such as chicken vegetable spring rolls, Prawn and frozen doughs to local market. We are sure of having high addressable market, since it offers a competitive affordable price that will attract people of all classes, Tanar holdings Frozen food will have a high patronage because we will sell fresh frozen foods products that are void of chemical preservatives. With a vision of operating chains of Frozen food outlets in strategic locations all round Nairobi County and in major cities in Kenya with a motive of investing in overseas country majorly in the regional realm. With the aid of state of the art technology we intend to deliver more than expectations to the consumer.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

Due to an increase in the working population, about 39% of young couples have admitted that they do not have time to cook which is recognized as the major market driver for the frozen food business. Additionally, proper refrigeration facilities in retail shops to store frozen food products is also one of the major market drivers of the frozen food business. The sudden outbreak of COVID-19 impacted the restaurant business and people shifted toward frozen foods. We also intend to help the customers to bear the stress of processing and preserving the foods through supplying them with fresh edible frozen commodities.

01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your startup provides (at least 3).

1. We solve the problem of farmers which find it difficult most times to transfer their poultry birds and sea foods to end customers through value addition of their produces to ensure constant consumption by the consumer. 2. My startup employs people from different spectrum. Right from creating direct job especially to the youth who supply me with the commodities to making the frozen foods. From farmers who sell vegetables and birds to designers who produce the stickers for labelling. Additionally it employs in an indirect way as people in the process benefit from the business. An example is the delivery person who gets incentives from the delivery to meet ends meet. 3.An advantage that comes with my startup is that it offers a lucrative opportunity to supply the local market with commodities that are ready for consumption reducing time in the making process and stirs local economy through injecting investments.

In accordance to the market the products from my start up are in line to increase the level of purchasing power and give more will to the the buyer in terms of market competion.

We consider the frozen food businesses within the Nairobi area as not being competitive enough.Our potential competitor is imported frozen food companies and we are coming with a lot of enthusiasm and passion to change the way things are being done by encouraging for locally made products outsourced from our very own people. We have identified major areas such as branding and quality of service as needing improvement. Providing these in addition to a wide variety of products will enhance our chances of capturing the market.
