Describe your project or startup in a few words

The David Orchard is currently at the proposal and funding-seeking stages. It will be located in the Epalela Village, Northern Namibia. The Orchard will produce Navel oranges, Nartjies, Avocado and Papaya. The main purpose of the project is to end poverty

01.01 Describe your project in more detail

The orchard will hire laborers from the villages and around the Northern regions of the country to help with the setup of the Orchard. Permanent workers will be hired depending on the skills and expertise, while the seasonal workers will be hired based on the availability of spaces. The fruits that will be produced are Papaya, Avocados, Navel Oranges, and Nartjies. The fruits will be sold to the locals markets instances the small businesses that operate at open markets and in the streets as well as the medium enterprises and large enterprises.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The main problem the Orchard is trying to solve is high unemployment rate in the country to end poverty.

The fruits helps supports the health of the people within and outside Namibia at an affordable prices.

The project is aimed to serve all Namibian especially unemployed graduates and youths as well as large and small enterprises.

The project will be comprised led by me as a CEO, a male partner as a Spokespersons, females as accountant and HR officers, Male drivers, and male and female seasonal and permanent workers.

Therefore, by consuming these fruits; the people will be protected from acquiring diseases that caused by lack of supplements in the bodies. Again, the people will not have to spend their hard earned income in buying supplements because the fruits contain all the bodies need to keep diseases at bay.

The land on which the project will be based is bare, not many biodiversity are found on. It will also ensure only harmless chemicals will be used on the trees; this to not kill terrestrial animals as well as people. No trees will be cut down to expand the field; this mean no desertification and deforestation likely to occur.

The project will be the first ever commercial farm producing the products in the region.

05.09 Who are your main potential competitors and what makes you stand out from them?

The main competitors are the farmers outside the country that produce similar products being imported in the country at moment. We will make sure to produce quality products that can halt the import of fruits into the country.

Yes, I want to be the first female commercial farmer in my community to empower other women.
