Creating sustainable farming and improve food security as well as rural development through subsistence farming.
01.01 Describe your project in more detail
Building sustainable garden's through subsistence farming, using more sustainable and innovative farming practices. Despite Namibias arids and semi arid climate.
01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?
We emphasize on the need to adopt good agricultural practices to deal with the existing problems that farmers face, . Like land degradation and soil erosion are among the problems and challenges faced by farmers. .High dependence on rainfall and very low percentage of farmers use any form of irrigation systems. . Low levels of productivity for crops and livestock: farmer's in Namibia follow inefficient farming practices which results in poor yields. Due to poor knowledge, poverty and infrastructure most farmers still practices subsistence farming.
01.03 Tell us the major benefits and/or advantages of using the product/service that your project intends to provide (at least 3).
Smart farming is a concept focused on providing the agricultural industry with the infrastructure to leverage advanced sustainable technology into farming. Technology such as hydroponics and aquaponics to improve crops production. . Conservation agriculture . Use of hybrid seeds . Smart irrigation Simplifying the farming process Like using the aeroponic tower's offers the possibility to cultivate more than 160 different crops. Farming with aeroponic tower's allows you to grow over 160 different crops without the use of soil while serving 90% space and 95% water compared to traditional farming methods.
01.04 Please describe who exactly your project is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
We are targeting subsistence farmer’s, Poor rural farmers who are fighting income security, food security because the ways of how they practice farming which is not sustainable. And developing the subsistence sector in a long-term.

Our main competitors are commercial farmer's. Who have bigger farms and more money. As they are already known and can produce more yields. But we are using a more technological advanced approach in farming which is aeroponic tower's. And other advanced sustainable techniques.
10.06 Are you initiating actions within your community to promote the role of female entrepreneurs?
Yes, because more women are subsistence farmer’s. Being left home by their husband's who went to the cities for job's opportunities women end up in the village farming on their own with no help. so the project will greatly improve and benefit their lives.
