Describe your project or startup in a few words

It will contain rigid and yet floating material that will help to float during rainy season and filter to prevent waste material getting into the drainages which causes blockages and lead to flooding. When the rains are done it goes back to its position

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

It will use the combination of plastic material and wood to enable the rigidity and floating effect of the manhole. It will be guided by a rod in between and the sieve which will prevent huge street waste from getting into the drains.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

The flooding problem in my country Zambia which has lead to a lot of waterborne diseases such as cholera and other waterborne related diseases

- It is less cost to set up and can be done with less difficulties - It will use material which is cheaper than cast iron. - It uses cheap raw materials such as recycled plastic and wood

01.04 Please describe who exactly your startup’s product/service is aimed at serving. Who are the targeted beneficiaries?

People who are usually affected by Cholera especially those in rural communities or ghetto areas of our country. This happens every rainy season and in as much as this won’t completely eradicate the problem here and then, with time it will reduce it as the major cause of cholera in Zambia is due to poor drainage systems.
