BAPIM Beverages Limited is a customer-oriented company that aims at providing the highest quality of clean and safe drinking water to communities with putting much focus on local markets, offices, businesses and other public markets.

01.01 Describe your startup in more detail

BAPIM Beverages Limited is a customer-oriented organization that aims at providing high quality purified water to the local communities while focusing on local markets, offices, banks and other business places. We use an advanced technology of reverse osmosis which is the process of which water passes through semi-permeable membranes to remove contaminants, impurities, bacteria and the water is further treated with an ultraviolet light to kill any possible bacteria . We are a competing brand on the market and we have a number of products and services ranging from: -the manufacture, production and distributions of purified water, -selling water filtration systems to companies and individuals -installation and repairing of water filtration equipment and other machines related to purified water.

01.02 What is the main problem you are trying to solve?

A vast Marjority of Zambians do not have access to clean and safe drinking water. As a result, a number of citizens die every year due to waterborne diseases like cholera because people have no choice but to source drinking water from unsafe sources like taps, rivers, wells and boreholes of which the water is usually contaminated. We solve this problem by providing access to clean and safe drinking water that is free from any bacteria and impurities to the communities. We aim at addressing clean and safe drinking water shortages in areas where access water is limited. This greatly improves public health by reducing the risk of contracting waterborne diseases like cholera, Diarrhea and Typhoid.

Using our product (purified water) has so many advantages and benefits like: -reducing the risk of contracting waterborne diseases like cholera, diarrhea and typhoid as purified water is free from harmful bacteria and parasites making it safer for drinking, -Promoting overall health and well-being because purified water removes toxins and impurities from your body, -improving the skin and hair health, -improving taste and odor, -protecting appliances because purified water is free from minerals and impurities that damage household appliances and plumbing, -Drinking purified water helps in the reduction of kidney stones because they flush out minerals that cause them and so many other positive benefits

The other owner/co-founder is called Banji Mooba and we are twins. We both studied Civil Engineering at Zhejiang University in China from 2017 to 2021 and we both worked part-time in a water bottling company and that is where we developed the interest in manufacturing and began funding our dream with the income we were generating from the part-time job. We used the experience we gained from an advanced country like China to start up our own company in 2023 with purified bottled water being our first product.

Our start-up uses an advanced technology of reverse osmosis to purify the water. This is a process that involves the forcing of water through a semipermeable membrane to remove minerals, contaminants, impurities, and bacteria. The water then passes through an ultraviolet light to further treat the water and kill any possible bacteria. We built a small warehouse where we conduct production and also store our final products which are ready for delivery.

06.08 Justification for my startup

Our start-up uses an advanced technology of reverse osmosis to purify the water. This is a process that involves the forcing of water through a semipermeable membrane to remove minerals, contaminants, impurities, and bacteria. The water then passes through an ultraviolet light to further treat the water and kill any possible bacteria. Most water bottling companies are from Lusaka(capital city). Most of our competitors mainly concentrate on the Lusaka urban market which is densely populated hence leaving out the market outside of Lusaka, People outside Lusaka have to wait for days and sometimes weeks to access bottled water which is also characterized by high prices. So we are supplying in other provinces with putting less concentration on the Lusaka market. We are trying to concentrate on exploring a market which has been explored less by our competitors. We give our clients a high quality product at a low price.

Our biggest competitors are trade Kings and fairy bottlings. We differentiate by offering unique services that set us apart from them like home delivery, massive discounts to our loyal customers and high quality products at a low price. We continuously revolve and adapt to changing environment and customer needs as we are a customer focused business. We adapt to market shifts and competitor movements because we are youths under 26 years of age. We are very consistent in our offerings and we optimize processes and workflows to stay ahead. Most water bottling companies are from Lusaka(capital city).
